OK, I could not let my best buddy get away with writing such depressing thoughts without fighting back. I poet I am not, but here it is:

You can be at peace again
Your life is full of happiness and passion
You just aren't looking for it
It's here, waiting for you

You still have a life
A life full of fun and passion for life
You just aren't seeing it
It's here, waiting for you

You still have children
That laugh, cry and love
They miss the Daddy they used to have
They are here, waiting for you

You have many friends 
that love you dearly
They want to share your life again
They are here, waiting for you

The man we love 
Is still inside that shell,
What counts is not gone
He's here, waiting for you

What once was is no more
This is true
But a new life can be found
It's here, waiting for you

The time has come
To claim that new life
The grieving must end
We're here, waiting for you
