Harriette's Story
My name is Harriette Watson. On the chat I go by Duck47. I have had RA for three years now.
I am married to a wonderful man, who I met and fell in love with in high school. We celebrated our 35 wedding anniversary last December 21. We have two children, David Jr. 35 and Theresa 29. Also have five wonderful grandchildren. Elizabeth is 10, Kimberly is 9, Dylan is 8, Autumn is 4 and Drake is 2. My family is what keeps me a going. We are a very close and loving family. I also have two Dalamatians, Shelby and her son King
Elvis.
I am a avid Elvis fan. I have a room in my house that is full of nothing but Elvis collectibles. I have been collecting since 1969. The plates on my car say Elvis 34.
The past year has been the hardest one for me, since I found out that I had RA. I had to quit my job at a food vending company. I worked for two years before I knew I could not do it any longer. All the walking, heavy lifting and the long hours that we were required to work everyday, ten or more was impossible for me to go on. I have applied for Social Security Disability, and have been denied twice now. I now have a lawyer and we are waiting to hear back on a hearing date. My lawyer says I will get it this time. I sure hope so.
I love to crochet and do work with plastic canvas, and make things. Also love to go with my husband when he goes to car shows. His hobby is building Street Rods. He has over 400 trophies and awards from his cars.
Right now he is building a 1932 Ford, three window coupe. I am so proud of what he has done over the years.
