Mayar<font size="3">'s Story
Hi !
My name is Mayar waheed. I found this site just yesterday, and you would
never imagine the relief I got when I discovered that I am not the only
25
year old person out there with RA. I was diagnosed as having
pauciarticular
juvenile chronic arthritis 3 months ago and I have been on medication
since
then. My doctor- a rheumatologist in Egypt, Cairo, used injections to
get fluid out of my knees joints and injected Cortizon in both knees. He
prescribed 4 tablets of Salazopyrin daily, Cortizon, Plaquenil and Vioxx.
He found out from my history that I had had RA since I was a teenage,
and we did not know about it. In my past, I was wrongly diagnosed as
having rheumatic fever!!!
The frustrating thing is that I am still a newly wed bride, and now
there are many concerns going around my head about living with this
disease for the rest of my life, and the implications it means
concerning the issue of getting any children. I thank God for my
wonderful supportive husband, Mourad Rimon, who has been just GREAT
during these past few months. Without him I would have just gotten into
depression for a long time. I would also like to thank my God for
putting me into such a state, because I am sure that He knows this is
the best for me. I beleive that someday He would do a miracle IF He sees
that this would be better for me....But it is all up to Him.
Right now I am on medication and I have put all activities that I used
to do on halt until I further understand what is going on in my body. I
am looking forward to making friends on this site, and I am looking
forward to learn from those of you who had similar experiences before.
Thanks and bye for now.
