Hello There! my name is Susan and I was diagnosed with RA about 6 or 7yrs. ago. I'm
36 yrs.old, when I first got sick from it was I was working as a sales associate which can be a very stressful job, especially during the holidays. I first got sick from my right leg; I started getting some pains and some swelling in the back of my knee. I then started to get worse I noticed that I couldn't hardly stand or walk for periods of time I had to take a sick leave. I was seeing lots of doctors, and internists, they did lots of x-rays and nothing. They even did an MRI for my whole body and nothing also MNG, which was very painful, and nothing they were all wondering if it might be all in my head! I was still having problems walking and standing for 4 months I was almost normal again. I started doing some research on my wonderful computer I was going to the wrong doctors! I had to see was a rheumatologist. So I made an appointment, saw my doctor told him my symptoms and he didn't at first believed me either until he did the blood test and it came out positive. My Doctor is afraid to give me any medication because of the side effects I was also born with 2 wholes in the heart and had 3 open heart surgeries he's afraid of doing some damage to it. I've experienced the pain, the fatigue, and I still went to work and school. I had to leave my job for 5 yrs. of retail because the ridiculous things that was going on. I was on remission for almost a whole year but now I'm starting to feel sick again I think it's doing something, waiting to attack! I'm at school at a job training program for people with disabilities doing computers and lately it wants to really get to me. Yesterday was the worse day! My English teacher has RA and it's really affecting her hands big time! I'm afraid of it affecting my heart. Lately I've getting some heart palpitations. I'm also wondering if it effects any other part of the organs? Well, I think this is a great site and hope to hear from ya, and to keep in touch. Take Care, God Bless, Susan.
