Hello everyone,
We are students at Boston University, and we are trying to develop a product that will help people with disabilities (permanent/temporary) and people with arthritis who may have trouble making their bed in the morning. People with severe arthritis may have difficulty lifting and shifting heavy blankets and moving around the bed. We have attached a preliminary design to better describe our product, and some questions that will help us create a better product for you. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
The BedMaid
When you wake up in the morning, all you need to do is attach one clamp to your sheet, blanket, or all of them and roll out of bed and attach the other one. Then with the press of a button, the winch will slowly retract the blanket to the original position, without the need to hold heavy blankets or walk back and forth around your bed.
Below are also some questions that we would like to address:
General
-What is your age range? (20-40 40-55 55-65 65+)
-Do you currently make your bed daily or almost every day?
-What are reasons you may not make your bed?
-What specific action is hardest about making a bed for you?
Marketing Mix questions
-What store would you expect to see/ look for this product in?
-Would you purchase a product that could help make your bed each morning?
-What are your concerns about a product like this?
-How much would you be willing to pay for a device that would make you bed with minimal effort? ($40, $60, $80, $100)
-Would you prefer a product that matched your bed, or would it not matter?
Media and Lifestyle questions
-What magazines do you read? What websites do you frequent? What TV shows do you watch? Around what hours do you watch TV?
-What other products do you buy to ease the burdens of your disability/ old age?
-What are the features of these products that make them attractive?
