Lupus (Systemic lupus erythematosus)

About 500,000 people in the United States have Lupus to one degree or another. The severity ranges from mild to severe. Some people only have a couple of the symptoms while others have them all. This makes it difficult to provide information that applies to everyone, but we'll do our best!

Symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and more.
Preventing a Lupus Flare
Can it be prevented? Maybe or at least lessened. (NIAMS)
Living with Lupus
A great article from the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases.
Skincare and Lupus
One more from NIAMS. Learn about the unique skin problems facing those with lupus.
Lupus & Pregnancy
Just a few years ago women with lupus were told not to get pregnant and if they happened to become pregnant they were encouraged to abort. Thankfully, that is not the case any longer.
Nutrition and Lupus
Although there are no specific dietary guidelines for people with lupus, there are some nutrition issues that you should know about. (NIAMS) (Ya gotta love NIAMS!)
Preventing Fatigue Due to Lupus
Fatigue is a very common complaint of all people with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), even when no other symptoms of active disease are present. Also from NIAMS
