Survived the move and resp infection | Arthritis Information

Survived, sort of.

Mostly it went pretty well.  The biggest glitch was not being able to move my beloved computer desk and hutch down a narrow hallway and into the 2nd bedroom, so I am now typing this atop a few boxes of shoes and files. Bye-bye computer desk.

We even survived the 7 hour move itself while going from beautiful, sunny, seasonably hot weather to major storms with hail...yes, hail!...the size of walnuts.

I wuz a bad girl though.  We put one of our bound carpets on top of the wall-to-wall in the living room, and it keeps buckling.  When they delivered our new LR set, the carpet wasn't in the right place and still buckling. I insisted to hubby that we could still move the carpet if we just moved all the furniture out of the way.  After he insisted it couldn't be done, I asked him to leave the room for 20 minutes and I moved a sofa, a loveseat, a chair, an ottoman, a coffee table and two end tables.  Yeah, by myself, until the end, because the sofa wouldn't stay up on end by itself.  But I did get the carpet where I wanted, even though it's still buckling.  I wonder why my hands won't close today...

I must have a "thing" with carpets because the bound carpet in the bedroom wasn't in quite the right place when the movers put in the bed, armoire and nightstands, but my sweet hubby, who loves me so much, moved it all by himself to move the carpet a couple inches just to make me happy.

Hubby has been an absolute angel.  He wants everything to be perfect for me (this is the first place I've owned, but he's owned a couple of places before).  He's been unpacking everything, but it's driving me crazy cuz I don't know where anything is, and it's not where I want it.  But I can't do it all myself, and I need his help, and I just can't be too choosy.  I have a hard time adjusting to change and this is a lotta change.

There's still many things we wanted to do before we moved in that aren't done yet, so I'm trying to let go of those expectations and just do what I can do.

So I'm going to go pay the bills, and rest up, and catch up here in the next couple of days.

So then, I guess it feels good to be home  Great that you survived the move - sounds like a lot of hard work for you.  You got it - take a break and just easy for now. Moving under any circumstances is rough. You stop and just breathe. Those boxes aren't going anywhere. Take your time and move slow for a few days girl.

Man, I am tired after reading your post. Glad you got moved. Sorry about the infection.

Now I am going to go take my shower, I have been meaning to take for the last couple of hours Hi Suzanne, you exhausted me......girl, sit down, relax or better yet get a hot, hot shower and relax.  You don't have to do it all tonight.  Stan and I have a organizational team thing we do.  I organize and put in piles and he makes the piles disappear.  I am always finding things that either I forgot about or hadn't seen for awhile.  It's like a treasure hunt but for us it works.  I'm so happy that your husband is excited for you and helping you so much.  Easy, girl.  Lindy
