Why are polls disallowed? | Arthritis Information

Polls are a great feature -- and it seems we aren't granted that on this message board.  There are so many questions that could be handled well as a poll.

I wonder why the powers that be disallow them?

Good question, I don't know why.

Maybe we could ask "the powers that be"

Where are the powers that be??

I'd love to do some polling with the people on this site. Wouldn't it be interesting to mine this goldmine of information and experience for what works and what doesn't?  I've been thinking about and researching a questionaire that could gather a bunch of info. I have a private web site and could possibly host it there. I've actually started to put together a plan to look at the effect of provigil on peoples ability to function with RA. There are a lot of things to consider but I'm spraining my brain over it. I just wish I didn't hurt so much today. It's sooo disabling.

I know what you mean about disabling Kathy.  I have to finish a report for my program that I had to resign from because of ra.  It's deadline is today.  Normally, it would have been no big deal but now it is a major task.  When you cannot think straight, it is so hard to write.  I am so glad this website is so forgiving.  My focus sucks.

It seems that a lot of people are being treated with humira. I'd also love to know if people find remicade helpful and if people have tried different things what was the most helpful and what makes the difference. Maybe we could do our own studies. I've only been on this message board for a couple of days and I can't believe how much its already helped me.

if you read my post today-"picc line...not" you'll find they've just decided to put me on humira.  I would also love to know if people have found it as helpful as remicade was for me, until they decided i just don't have the veins for it.

Unofficial poll: vote yea or nay if you would like polls!

_yes

_no

So how do we get it going?  This is my first experience with message boards.  I have no idea how it is facilitated, etc. etc. etc.  Is there someone that monitors this?  I vote yes for a polling place.  I think pharmaceuticals would vote no.  They don't want us to learn anything that they do not desseminate !

Maybe people could post the questions they would want to ask here and I could put them together on a web page set up just for that. I'll also work on a questionaire that might give us a lot of info on what people think or have experienced.

 Hi Everyone,

I see that some of the members would like to be able to do some polling.  I was wondering why we didn't have permission to use this forums for polling purposes too.  I am sure there is a good reason for it.

I agree that it would be nice if we had a place to use for polling, so I found a free forum that we can use.  I am in the process of setting it up right now.  I am new to all of this, so it may take me a few days to figure out my way around it but if you all want to use it, I could possible have it up and running by this weekend.

Let me know what you all think about using the free site and what you may like to do in it.

Toni

I wonder if everyone on this site will make the effort to participate in the polls on another site.  What do you guys think?  Not very effective polling if we do not get a good distribution of different people to participate.

Where's the forum?
