I want some information about gout…..i hope you guys will help me.  I have just come to know that I suffer from gout.  I’m really worried about my health.  My doctor advised me to take benuryl to remove excess uric acid from my body.  I wonder how excess of uric acid concerned with gout.  I have been reading about benuryl on page http://www.drugdelivery.ca/s3907-s-BENURYL.aspx but I cannot find anything about gout there.  Can anyone give me some more information about gout and the possible remedies?

firedancerI am sorry you have gout.  Besides NSAIDs there are colchicine and prednisone for treatment of acute gout attacks.  To prevent future attacks, you can take take allopurinol, probenecid, or sulphinpyrazone to lower the blood urate level if your kidneys permit them -- but has to wait until the current attack is completely subsided, e.g. 2~4 weeks after you think it's gone.  Talk to your doctor about these med.
