Leg Jerking... No Really! | Arthritis Information

Ok since I have been off Humira, I keep being woke up by one of my legs jerking me awake. It usually does not happen until after I have fallen asleep, in a really deep sleep and then I get woke up the leg that jerked.

I only seem to get the jerking leg when I am off my Humira, and after I have been off it for almost a month. I use to think it was the pred, but I think I am seeing a pattern here.

Anyone else experience this?

Could be restless legs Joonie.  Thats how mine started.  Get the doctor to check it out and maybe do a sleep study.I used to have a big problem with leg jerking. My husband used to call it the "mad-kicking disease" that's when we stopped sleeping together. He got tired of being kicked awake every night. Once when I was sleeping over at my son's I'd gone to bed before him and his wife, and all of a sudden he heard a loud kick on the wall. He said "s**t! Did you hear that?" They got quiet and listened and then I did it again. He opened my door and said "mom, are you alright?" I wasn't even awake. I was so embarrassed. For me, I think it might have been an iron deficency. I don't have many problems with it anymore.

I too have had a problem in the past.

My wife said I would be kickng and twitching like a sleeping puppy dreaming about runing. I have not noticed it since I stopped the prednisone. Hmmmm

I do not think it is the pred, but could be.

I do get muscle twitches. Like my upper thigh muscle with twitch, but it does not hurt it just feels weird. And only does it when I have inflammation in my knee.

My right leg jerked so hard a couple of days ago and it made my right hip hurt. And it hurt all day long.

 So sorry Joonie

Or maybe your trying to kick Pedro out, he is kind a mean

You are always remembering something from yesterday or last week. Me I can hardly remember what I ate for supper.

Yeah, maybe it is Denise laying the smack down on everyone when my leg jerks.

LOL Jay, I always remember Joonie's multiple personalities, they're so fascinating. But don't ask me to remember what I just read, short term memory loss UGH.

I think this needs to be my last post, because I am getting sillier by the minute. Must be the new percocet....great stuff.

I don't know, that sounds like restless legs to me.  My meds (below) helped with my similar problem so it's possible your meds were helping too and you need to be back on it or something similar.

Oh my gosh, my short term memory is awful too.  Since I can't always remember which posts I replied to, I forget follow up and I worry someone will ask a question that I don't answer and think I'm ignoring them.  And reading, forget it.  A few days after I finish a book, I won't be able to tell you the title or anything about it.  Boy, is that embarrasing.  I just thought I was getting old in general but sounds like it could be part of the disease process.
