Wanted to ask if anyone has tried this route? and if so any success with long term pain relief and or pain med reduction?  Thanks for reading    CJamesI just recently tried it, went about 12 times, once a week for several months.  The first couple of times I went, I felt it was a good detox, I would actually feel really STRANGE when I left my session and it lasted through the afternoon and into the evening.  I personally think it was toxins built up in my system getting flushed out.

Honestly, I think its worth a try for everyone as some people it really does help. But, for me, I didn't get much from it. I might have been a little more relaxed the day of but can't say it really helped with the pain or other symptoms.  I got tired of paying the a session for it.  I do find that I respond better to massage therapy!
I tried it for my fibro, before I was dx'd with RA, and went for about 8 sessions.  I didn't find any difference at all, but each person is different, so if you have the means, it's worth a try.Hello, I've been a regular 'user' of acupuncture for 18 months now. I have to say, it's made very little difference pain wise but it helps enornmously with the nausea associated with meds if you suffer from that. It also makes me feel in better spirits after a session so it's worth its weight in gold for that alone. Good luck with it!I maxed out at 32 visits at each.  Felt good whie I was there, not sure it helped out.  I quit because of the expense, I felt as though I gave it a good shot.

Hi,

My GP does medical acupuncture and whenever I can I persuade him to do some. My PA affects my spine badly and I get immediate relief from needles in the trigger points on my back, especially for muscle spasms that cause pain and then more porblems with other muscles nearby so It's good to stop them before they start (if you know what I mean). When he puts the needle in I get a tingly feeling and immediaely that area feels relaxed. Afterwards I feel no pain in my back for a few hours (which is blissful) nad sleep really well. It doesn't last very long for me but definately worht trying. I've never had traditional chinese acupuncture...

PS sorry about typo's, bad hand day today...
