hi everyone, just wanted to let you know my latest. My gorgeous 2 year old grandaughter came down with viral meningitis last night and was put in hospital on a drip. I stayed up all night with worry and also looked after her 6 month old brother so her mum and dad could be with her. Its so scary when your kids/grandkids get sick. well today I had my rheumatologist appointment 85miles away after having no more than 1 hour sleep. I am so tired and in so much pain. so much that my rheumy agreed to embrel on the spot. ( I have been trying to get on it for over a year now) so everything i went through last night has turned out for the good in a weird sort of way. I start embrel in two weeks time. YayOh, alley, viral meningitis is so scary in kids and dangerous. I am glad she is in hospital where she can be looked after and hope she is okay soon. Kids bounce back so quick from things.

Thank god, the Enbrel is happening for you...kind of ironic though that the hospital vigil and the travel obviously got the message through.

You and your family, take care and I hope the little one is okay real soon and her poor Mum and Dad not too worn out.
thanks cordelia its so good to be able to let it all out on this site. i nearly lost my son 13 years ago to bacterial meningitis so as soon as i heard that word i just freaked.I think i should get some rest incase i get a call to help tonight. i can barely stand now my ankles are killing me and swollen. so goodnight ( i hope ) Goodnight, alleycat...yeah, go get rest woman in case you are needed...what a great Mum and Grandmother you are...being supportive for them RA and all. Well done. I bet your ankles are swollen and painful, darl. Hope you rest well, sweetie.  Ally, sending hugs for you and your family, and prayers for your wee grand-daughter's swift recovery.  Rest up as much as you can, and go well with the Enbrel. My most positive thoughts for your family Ally. It is so scarey when kids get sick and have to go to the hospital. Ally; I'll keep your Grandaughter in my prayers. Please try to rest all you can while you can. Alley...just to offer some encouragement, my son had viral menengitis when he was about 2.  Spent several days in the hospital, but came out healthy as ever.  He is now almost 24 and a fine young husband and US Marine!!!  I know it's scary, but it'll be ok.  I'll be praying for that little one, and her mom and dad, and g-ma and g-pa too.

Prayers and hugs to you and your family Ally

Please let us know how the little one is as soon as you can.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  I hope the Enbrel works quickly for you.  How scary for you all. She's in the best hands, so we've got to just trust that she'll be ok. You all are in my thoughts and prayers today. Please let us know as soon as you can. And I hope you feel better yourself.

Keeping good thought for you and yours

So sorry about the meningitis.  My son had that and was sicker than a dog.  I will keep her in my prayers.

Good about the Embrel, and hope it helps!

Rest today!

Let's hope that the AI prayers turn things around for all of you.  It's heartbreaking to see a little one sick.  Take care and keep us posted. thankyou everyone for your kind wishes and prayers. Patience is home now but her fever still keeps spiking. She is much happier to be home watching bananas in pyjamas . Well, I am glad she is alright. Bananas in Pajamas makes it all better. How is Grandma? hi cordelia, i am so exhausted but happy. Now after all the time wanting embrel, I am starting to freak out wondering how i will go with the needles. needles dont bother me but the thought of giving them to myself is a bit daunting. i would love to use the sure click but my rheumy said 25mg 2x weekly. i think the sure click only comes in 50mg.
