Please someone tell me that the tremors I'm having in my left hand are due to the inflammation and swelling in my wrist, compressing the nerves.  I am pretty sure I'm flaring as my wrists are very sore and swollen.  When I rest my hand my baby finger, index finger and thumb take turns jerking up and down.  I don't have any other symptoms anywhere, just my left hand.

What's the verdict.

Have you researched the symptons of Caprel Tunnel Syndrome? The symptoms do sound simular but I'm not sure of the tremors really. Pammy, I have always had tremors with the RA to some degree...worse sometimes than others. I just thought we all had them. Pammy, I've had a tremor in both hands all my life (even when I was a toddler) so I can't really help you. Although my tremors get worse when my hands, wrists or elbows are flaring and when I'm on doses of pred over 10mg.

I was tested for carpal tunnel a couple of years ago before being diagnosed with the RA.  Usually carpal tunnel has tingling and numbness and pain at night.  I don't have any of those.  Just this jumping of fingers when I rest my hand on the desk or table.  I guess I'll make a dr appt tomorrow, I have to take Merryn anyway so I'll do a 2fer.

Dr's appointment is the best idea, Pam.

The tremors in the left hand are due to inflammation and swelling  which compresses the nerves.

I had it - they tried saying 'it's carpel tunnel'.  The neuro practically used the same words you wrote when he disagreed with the rheumies.

It eventually all went away.

We chatted about this last night a little. My legs use to jerk /  jump when I was sleeping while on prednisone. My wife said it was like a puppy dreaming about runing. (Minus the whimpering)

yep  I have  a tremor most of the time. it makes for generalized clumsiness. LIke smashing eggs instead of nicely breaking them.. also causes a lot of ripped fingernails because reaching for something means hitting it, not grasping it.I too tremor most of the time and even JERK when I am tired or run down.
