Ok Joonie reminded me about pens.  I stole this link from another board and thought I would share it with you guys.  Joonie, do you think this would be better for you to write with?  I think im gonna pick one up and if you want to try it I could grab one for you to and send it down to ya.

Kelsey,

Hey, I think these might be the pens that Katie loves so much.  I found them awkward, but to each his own!  I like the huge pens with the rubber grip.  I *cannot* write with your standard pen.  In fact, the bigger, the better.

Phats

Shannon,

Let us know how it works. It looks a little funkie but I am sure a person could get used to it.

I tried it  and couldnt move it around. I get a small rubber ball and poke my pens through it.It looks comfortable. I would have to see how well I could write with it though. I am a lefty and the top of my pen generally moves around a lot. I don't know how well I could control it. I agree, the fatter the better when it comes to pens!!  My favorite are the papermate phd ultra! I heart these pens!!! I have a black one and  I ADORE it.

I don't write unless forced to..everythinh gets typed-badly but at least you can  tell what the letters are.  My handwriting is illegiblenow

I don't think this is an off topic post.  Items made for disabled people is totally on topic

I wasnt sure buckeye so i figured I'd play it safe.I just go through the shoebox full of pens left by drug reps at work.  We have all kinds and shapes,  some have nice thick foam grips, some are large triangular shaped, I just try one until I think I like it,,,,then I take all the ones that shape!  I don't think I've bought a pen in the last couple of years, I always have half a dozen on me and some by the phone, by the computer, in the car, in my bag.  I find it helps with my obsessive list and note making to always have a pen to hand.

I can write for a few mins straight with a pen like the drug companies give Dr's offices. I need pens like that!

Thanks for the offer, Shannon. but it probably would not work well for me if it is not thick and free flowing ink.

Joonie, they have them at walmart. Next time you're there wander down the pen aisle. I took one out of the package to try it before I bought it. It's VERY light weight and writes easily. You don't put any pressure on your index finger at all. You actually use pressure from all over your hand, so it doesn't feel like you're doing any work to write.

This is the other pen I use

Walmart also carries this one, and its refils. I like it because the little gel grip doesn't bounce back when you let go. It's a really neat gel grip that forms to your fingers and stays that way for a while. I love love love how it feels. And I don't have to apply pressure to write, because it's a gel ink, which flows really well.

ewwy gell inks

Us Gel inkers LIKE our Gel pens....

Oh, and by the way, all the pens with "Signo" on them (uniball brand) are designed to help fight check fraud. There's something special about the ink, and the way it can be viewed. Basically, no one can alter your checks once you've written them, without it being able to be detected. It's a nice feature!

arriscolwell39316.6708796296I just saw a show on identity theft and check fraud and the Uniball 207 was the recommended pen to use for writing checks. Katie knows her stuff!!!Mwuahahaha I love my super pen.

I know the pen Shannon showed you from Walgreens would work for you. I have one. The last joint on my index finger right hand only bends a tiny bit, it hurts if I press down with it too.

It takes some getting use to but if you can break the tight grip habit, you will be able to write with ease. Keep it in your purse so the kids do not run off with it.

Does it also keep you from moving your wrist while you write? My wrist also hurts after a few mins of writing. I just hate to write. I have been hating to write since I was in 9th grade. I remember putting off doing my English folder until 2 days before it had to be turned in because I just dreaded the writing I had to do. Most times I would only do enough work to get a C. which was a passing grade and made my wrist a happier little wrist not having to write all of it.

oh wait...its a PO box aint it
