too many factors | Arthritis Information

My new rheumy has been changing up my meds, most importantly stretching out my Enbrel from weekly to everyother week. Her thinking is that with my "normal" bloodwork and lack of swelling ( I just have lots of stiffness and aches) that such a "big gun" was overkill. So, I have been keeping a log of how I am feeling and yadda yadda. My problem is that so many factors play a role in how I feel on any given day, how in the heck are you supposed to know what is causing what? For instance, for the past month at the 10day mark between injections, I start feeling really bad. However this also conincided with alot of stress at work AND lots of funky stormy weather. So, is it the Enbrel, the weather, or the stress? As I am feeling bad now, I am tempted to say the heck with it an just take the injection to see if it makes me feel better. Any ideas? Experience?

thanks

Well, see it could actually be all three things together.

I am always going on about people trusting their instincts about their bodies and what they feel they need and as you begin to do that what starts to happen is you can 'read' what your body is saying better.

Only time and you noting your experiences will tell you whether it is maybe, for example, the emotional stress that is really sending you over the edge here...meanwhile I would just do what you feel is best for you. If your gut is saying let's take this injection early and see what happens...then maybe that is what you should do. Talking, of course, to your doctor afterwards. I have made those kind of decisions for myself. Or otherwise you call your doctor first and say...this is definitely not cutting it here already, I need you to do something.

Laura,

Sorry your feeling bad. We can all relate to you in one way or another. I agree with Cordy that you should contact your doctor. Keeping the log is a good idea I wish I had the disapline
