Howdy, howdy!

How's everyone doing today?  I'm feeling really good, for no good reason.  I stayed up until 3 am, and then had to get up at 7:30 to get ready to take my son to dreaded BAND CAMP  (cue ominous music).

I've already cleaned the kitchen, including the floors (which I always put off), done a load of laundry picked up the clutter in the LR.  I have to pick him up at 12:00, and after that I might allow myself to collapse for a bit.

How's everyone else today?

Wow I am jealous. All I did was water my flowers outside. I am glad for you we all need good days. I am waiting for 6th remicade on Mon. Feeling kind of achy.

Where is your daughter going to school and what is she studying?

 Good Morning everyone

Happy to see you so chipper this am Karen! I haven't got started on my dirty house yet UGH!

Hang in there Jay, sorry you're stiff and sore

Hope everyone has a great and pain free day!

Good morning Moana

Glad you got some rest.

Karen,

She is going to Kentucky Westlian (small private school about 900-1000 students) were her boy friend goes. She has changed majors about 5 times in 2 years but is currently striving for buisiness administration.

 Thanks Jay

Last night I finished the Nora Roberts book I was reading.  Had a good nights sleep.  This morning I woke up before my daughter so I had a chance to get in a cup of coffee before she woke up.  Then we had breakfast, took the dog out and showered.  It's always a good day when I get a shower at the beginning of the day instead of the end when I'm dragging my butt into the shower and falling asleep standing up.  Now I'm catching up on the board.  Yesterday I was real achy and just didn't feel like communicating too much.  Glad everyone is doing well.  Jay-I hope you get less sore as the day goes by.  Being achy can be a real downer.

I went to bed around 9PM last night - just mentally worn out.  Good thing, because we had a wicked bad thunderstorm that started around 4:00AM!  Since I had gotten a full night's sleep (without benadryl!!!) I just got up and watched the storm for a while.  I love storms.

Or perhaps what she is striving for is her boyfriend, LOL.  I know that one!

Business Administration is a great choice actually, she can use what she learns,  no matter what she ends up doing.

Thanks Steph

Shannon I remember that day with mine. *thinks back and smiles*

I am sure the rest of the sleepy heads will be along soon.

Karen laughed my but off!

Not much on the agenda today.  Am off to the commissary to grocery shop.  Need to call my health insurance and see if they'll pay for my eye exam.  We don't have vision coverage but since I have to have an eye exam because of a health related condition they may pay for it if my doctor furnishes medical necessity.

Pretty boring day all in all.  Will probably hit the later this evening after the wind stops blowing.  This desert wind is really ugly, hot, sandy and blowing hard.  It's already 94 degrees at 9 am.

Hubby is standing here rattling the truck keys, so I guess I need to go.  Lindy

Hi - I am a newbie, recovering from foot surgery with a laptop to keep me sane.  The foot is iced and up, but I can now move around occasionally, but no weight on the foot.  This is not a really good day for me since I got a new and tighter cast yesterday and my pain level is up.  Getting bored being helpless and just sitting around.

Few people that I know understand how wearing the constant pain is and how frustrating it is to do normal tasks with arthritic joints.  I am sure that you guys know what I am talking. I will get one more foot surgery this year, which will make 5 arthritis surgeries in a year and a half.  I decided to quit work- I was self-employed.

Thanks for listening.   Lynne

Hi Lynne,

Welcome to the board.  Sorry that the pain is bad today and that you're bored.  That can be tough. What type of business did you have?

I bought women's clothes from liquidators from Macy's and resold them on eBay and locally at craft fairs, etc.

The boredom is a whine, sorry.  I have books, tv, laptop to keep me busy, but the pain is making it hard to concentrate.  I may call the doc for more meds and see if this is normal pain. My husband accidentally partly dumped me out of the wheelchair when we hit a bad spot in the sidewalk.  I put my foot down at the time and now wonder if I hurt it.

Lynne

Hi Lynne, Welcome to the forum.  Am glad you found your way here.  We'll certainly try and keep you from being bored.  I just had my knee replaced 6 weeks ago due to EOA, other knee next year and possibly ankle surgery. I fully understand the boredom but you don't have much choice right now.  That's a lot of surgery.  I can't imagine.  Keep posting, we're here for you.  Lindy

Welcome Lynne,

Yes we do understand!  What type of sugeries have you had done to your hands?

Jay

well Kelsay is officially a kindergartaner...She did fine and mom did to. Awwww......how are ya feeling Shannon?I'm doing alright actually.  better then I thought I would be

Lynne,

That sounds like it would have been profitable.  I've been thinking of doing something along the same lines.  Aiming for when my daughter goes to kindergarten.  Shannon, I'm glad that you're doing okay.  I can't imagine what I'll be like.  I have 3 years to get used to the idea.

Shannon, your so brave. I was such a big baby. I can still remember walking home from dropping my son off and crying. That was 32 years ago. I didnt realize the kids went back to school this week. Try to stay busy.

Well I almost cried picking her today.  Her teacher said that she was fine up untill the point they walked outside and I wasnt there yet. Kelsay thought I wasnt going to be there at all to get her.  But shes alright now, I think it was just a long afternoon and shes a VERY emotional little girl

Ok who has ever heard of an RD office that does not have a FAT pen for people to write with?

They gave me forms to fill out and all, and then hand me a PaperMate pen.

Yeah... I have never heard of a RD office not have patient friendly pens to write with. That is my only complaint for my new RD.

My RD's office didn't have fat pens either.  Fortunately I can still write pretty well without one.  Thank God your hubby stole one from you.

Yeah, I know. But he did not even know where he got the pen from.

Joonie, none of my doc offices have RA friendly pens either. You know you'd think.....lol

Justin is MUCH MUCH better today, I couldnt convince him to get out of bed and hang out with me, he said it was way too nice to be able to lay down in comfort and watch TV.

He talked to his mom the other day and she's starting to feel ill more often. She is still refusing the chemo. She went to WORK one day, which is a HUGE no-no - partially because she still  has stitches in from the surgery, and partially because she's on full disability. But she went anyway, and pulled something and, you guessed it, popped her stitches out. *sigh* they had to call an ambulence to come get her. I guess it wasn't bad though, they released her right after sewing her back up.

My neck has shown no improvement with the Flexeril, but I feel druggy after I take it, so it has to be doing something to me. I just don't know what else could be the problem. Justin and I BOTH had appts for our bloodwork this AM, and both of us forgot about it. Argh!!!!!!!! >.< Oh well, I can re-schedule.

So I'm at work right now and it's incredibly slow. Which is awesome. :)

You know what I could never understand.  Why the examine tables are so high.  Not sure if anybody else has this issue but I have trouble with stairs and trying to get up on the exam table is pain.  It would make more sense to me in an RD's office to have exam tables that can just be sat on without having to climb up on a stool.

Katie- glad justin is feeling better.  Sorry that the medicine isn't working for your neck pain.

Or why don't they at least have something to grab onto, to help pull yourself up. I'm luck that I'm pertty tall, so if I can at least stand on the little pull out step, I can usually wiggle my butt onto the table. But still, I can't imagine if you were shorter than I am.Hey, I'm glad Justin is feeling better. Your MIL reminded me about my running errands the day I got home from having a c-section when first son was born. I tore all my stitches and had to be rushed back to hospital. I was young and fearless back then... didn't even need pain meds.

LOL Alrighty there Wonder Woman!

Justin said he couldn't understand why she went to work, and he was really mad at her at first. Then I tried to explain to him that she wasn't trying to get in trouble, she just wants to continue to lead as normal of a life as she's used to. She loved her job very much, and to be told she can't do it anymore has got to be bothering the hell out of her. She just wants the rest of her time to be happy, and honestly working made her happy. He understands it now, and he feels bad for her. I do wish she could work a little, but I know it wouldn't work out. I wish I knew how sick she really was, she's good at keeping that kind of information from us.

Yes Katie, something to help us short RAers with leg issues, please!  I'm only 5'2.  The stair comes up to my knees.  LOL  I need like a chair lift or something to get on that table.

I've often wondered about exam tables and why they weren't more patient friendly.  They're made for the comfort of the doctor, not the patient.  My RD doesn't have fat pens either.  My writing is still ok and I hadn't thought about it.

Katie, I'm so behind.  I just read your post about taking Justin to the ER....but it sounds like he's doing better today.  He didn't need to start flaring on top of everything else.  Hope he continues to do better.....he has a good nurse.  I looked at the diet site you recommended.  Good site.  I just did a simple spreadsheet for hubby and I to track our intake, calories daily.  I weigh 3 lbs less than I did last week at the RD's office.  So I had to go in and edit my weight on the diet thread - yippee.  Thanks for the info.

I have a book that's due back to the library in 8 days, so I'm going to read all afternoon - if my eyes don't give out.  Lindy

I need to find something to do while I'm at work, but I have no idea.......I can't really read because I do have to stop what I'm doing to answer phones or check people in. But at the same time I can be sitting here for hours without any interaction. Anyone have any ideas??? It's going to be like this for me until probably March!!!!!!Oh, Lin, you're welcome! It really is a neat site, you should check out their recipes too, I've made a few and they've all been great! I'm just glad that Justin TOLD ME as soon as he did, that he thought he was flaring. Silly goose likes to wait and wait until he can hardly stand up. That's a guy for ya, right???

LOL Katie, not my guys! They whine like a girl. If I hear Trey tell me how constipated he is one more time...I'm gonna get out the ole enema bag

 What are ya reading Lin?

LMAO Mona!!!!!

 heehee Katie that was me

Katie, glad to hear that Justin is feeling better today!  Kelsay wouldnt give up any info about her day.  I had to ask her if she did specific things.  She was like that with preschool though.

lol, my boys were like that all the way through school. "so, how was your day?" fine. "what did you do?" nothing. "do you have homework?" no. "projects? quizzes? tests?" no. Basically they do nothing all day everyday in every single class, year after year, lol.LMAO That's how I was too. I was a one word answer kinda kid. You'd never know it though, with the way I talk now.

Hey Katie, how was your day?

Hey everybody! I was busy with my kids at the mall, then out to lunch, then on to my pain managment 5:30 meeting, then to dinner. It was busy, but really nice to get out of the house. Now I am having dental surgery tommorrow. It's gonna suck. They have to drill out my upper front teeth all the way to the jawbone then put in temp caps...then more surgery next week weds. Last thing I need is more pain and dental bills but thats life. All I can do is pray and hope to god he will knock me out for this!

Welcome to the newcomer. Hope you are finding the support you need here!

Peace

Chris

Huh?

My day's been boring as crap. We had a whole whopping like 20 checkins. haha But it was funny when I got here, because they were all telling me how Jasmine flipped out that she's been knocked down to only 3 days a week. But she CONSTANTLY calls out of work, and she's always "sick" with something. I cant' stand her for it, but in a way I'm thankful, because since she started working, everyone looks at me and Justin like SAINTS for not bitching all the time.

I really do need some kind of a hobby to do during the slow season. Y'all have GOT to have some ideas!!!!

Yep, you really are a one word answer kinda girl!

You suck. LoL

What to do, what to do???  Katie needs a hobby while she's at work.

Hmmm, I know!  You could work!   HAHAHAHA!

Oh my god.

Alert the media, we have a comic in the house.

There's no work to DO when it's slow. :-P Why aren't you on AIM, anyway?

Katie, if you attended or graduated from college, what in heck are you doing working as a desk clerk?  I am sure that you get very bored.  I didn't graduate. My dumb self drank into oblivion, and dropped out. Classic story, right? I wanna go back to school this year, but I can't under after my birthday (grant eligibility depends on my age) *sigh* So until then! Here I sit.

Yeah, I need a hobby too!

Let's see... what kind of hobby should I look into? *thinks and thinks some more*

Oh and I'm not actually a desk clerk. I'm the Front Desk Supervisor. It's just that in the slow season.....well there's not a whole lot to supervise!!

I will hand out penny rolls to everyone upon entery so they can watch the peep show the males put on.

Oh and Karen - I know.

Glad you got to spend some time with the kids today. I bet that was the highlight of your day.

Probably. Do you suppose strippers get to write off titty tassles and glow in the dark body paint?

Thnga madoodle. Jesus. I guess it's true what they say about losing your mind when you get old.....

I thought thongs were for girls and g-strings were for me? I might be wrong. I have a thing for girls in a thong.....can you say wooooo hooooo!!!!!

It was special.  Not your common, run of the mill, every day kind of thinga madoodle.

Katie, you should totally take my advise I gave you earlier.  You could make friendship bracelets again on your down time and sell em to the people you check in.  You would be sooo busy then cause everyone would just have to have the awesome friendship bracelets that Katie made

OMG!! I was reading thru a magazine in my RD's waiting room, got to some quizzes, you know to see if you might have "Fibro" or "High Blood pressure". Well... I get to one and I read the "Did you know?" before I read the test.

It was using a lot of abbervations. And I was like just think of how funny it would be to make a sentance of abbervations for certain illnesses.

Example: ED had PE, but wanted to visit Viva Las Vegas. ED = Erectile Dysfunction; PE = Premature Ejaculation.

Yes, by what is used in my example above is the quiz was about if someone needed viagra

Stay outa trouble now.....

Do not forget, Paul, what ever happens in "vegas" stays in "vegas".

The commercial is sooo stooopid it is funny. I mean it does not help that they released that commercial around the time of Elvis' 30th anniversary of death and a spoof of one of his songs.

I just keep thinking they made a commercial about viagra with guys sitting around and singing "Viva Viagra". Because they felt that if Elvis was back from his Hawiian vacation he would be taking viagra on a daily basis.

And I tend to agree with them. Heck Elvis might have even made Pfizer the richest company in America because he would use soo much of it and also "donate" money for more "research".

And Elvis would change his Viva Las Vegas song to incorparate "viagra" into the song. It would be free promotional advertising for Pfizer, and then all the Elvis look alikes would sure enough get something done with their ED. I mean if you are an Elvis impersonator, you would think you had to take on the role of having ED, just to seem like the real deal.

Yeah I can see it now... Pfizer has booming sales because Elvis impersonators wanted to get rid of their ED & PE. I mean PE is nothing to play around with... if you got a bad grade in that "subject"... you were seen as a loser! That is why I always said it was due to my asthma

VIVA VIAGRA LYRICS

Got me a honey gonna set my soul,
gonna set my soul on fire!
At the end of the day
I'm not a guy to stray
because she's my heart desire.

Now this lonesome toad
is sick of the road
I can't wait

CHORUS; Can't wait!

I can't wait to go home.

CHORUS: Viva Viagra! Viva, VIva, VIVA VIAGRA

It just makes me wanna send hubby off to the dr and see if he can come back with viagra. I mean I need 4 hours of some good lovin'.

We had to use popsicle sticks and duck tape.

LMAO

Karen, have you had wine tonight?????
OUCH!

My wife has a huge collection of frilly, sexy thongs for me to choose from if I decide to wear one I will consult her on comfortable choice!

Your welcome Gale, now I am not suffering it alone

And duct tape fixes EVERYTHING that is broken

Just remember Chris, whale tails are NEVER in fashion! He was at a red light, and there were three cop cars that had pulled over a single car. They had one guy out getting searched, and one was just standing there. All of a sudden the one dude just TOOK OFF RUNNING across the lanes of traffic! So the cop followed, and the third cop car sped off after them. He said the light turned green, and no one moved. They were all to busy watching the show!! Tongue depressors? OMG None of you are gonna catch me taped up with a tongue depressor. How bout a good old fashioned strap on? Can I even say that here? I think I have gone over the line......

hey guys, I think I got here just in timeI NEED MY TEA. AND JUSTIN IS AT WORK WITH THE CAR. I HAVE NO WAY TO GET MY TEA!!!! She started singing Viva Viagra and all hell broke loose after that...

I'm afraid not - this is just normal me!

Yeah so you can imagine her drunk, right?

SCARY! Can you imagine an elderly lady newbie looking at this thread? I am soooo ashamed

Huh I've felt drunk all...muscle relaxers have kicked my butt, I took a nap at five and woke up at midnight!

My house is held together with duct tape but I just learned a new use for it

But she's like a car wreck, you CAN'T turn away
arriscolwell39316.8889351852

WE Did ?? What were they

Katie I think samus pissed in your tea and cheerios. Just that you started drinking on the tea before you woke up I don't eat cheerios! I eat Reece's Puffs Cereal!  They were called Erector Sets!

I remember erector sets.....popsicle stix and duct tape!My mind isn't in the gutter!!! I'm a good girl...... And here I thought only boys played with erector sets!Legos are the wave of the future my friends.... *the beginning of a Lego cult*

Wonder if I could but an erector set now... blood pressure medicine is hell on the libido Truthfully? I've heard of them, but don't REALLY know what they are. I think they're like Tinker Toys.YAY I'M NOT ALONE IN MY IGNORANCE!

For once.........

Uh no... I dont have a willy you goose

I was strictly a Barbie and Ken kinda girl.

Hahaha I used to make Barbie sleep naked with Ken.

Mo'Nana, it was explained to me that if you are married you do have a willy.

You little preevert no wonder they got a divorce and he went after Joe or whoever he was

So then Mona DOES have a willy??LMAO Well, I had a trailer for Barbie. It was called the Dream RV or something stupid. But I used to make her LIVE in it, and I'd put her in the worst clothes I had. And take out EVERY baby Barbie I owned, and Ken would come home drunk.....and yeah..........you get the picture....

JonnieI'm so confused......are we still talking about erector sets???? Wasn't that Skipper that Ken ran off with?Brisen39316.9149074074

Mona - I use Image Shack to host my pictures. It's free and easy. You just upload from your computer to the site, then right click on the picture and select properties, then copy the URL and paste into the message box.no go to www.photobucket.com and just follow the directions. If you get stuck you can ask me. I use them all the time

I refer to my son's as "winkie" and he will walk around nekkid and say "winkie, winkie, winkie, winkiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeee!" Yeah then I tell him to get in to shower. It is funny...

LOL Joonie. You have to tell that story when he invites his first g/f over for dinner.

 Ok Ill try BRB

Thats just priceless , Katie....redneck Barbie Why was she happy that they found arthritis in her back?Because, now she's "like me" She didn't say it, because she knows better, but she stumbled.........she said "So now I have arthritis too....." Then added "you know, along with the asthma" But she only added that after she saw the look on my face. *rolls eyes*
So she's one of those weirdos that LIKES to be sick...Yep. We have a few there like that. She's the mildest one. The other two are just RIDICULOUS.

Okay I can't stay up anymore. The Flexeril is ACTUALLY giving me relief, so I'm going to take advantage of it and get some decent sleep.

Love y'all!!!
LMAO!! Katie... just make the girl your friend already will ya

Oh I think I know what the weird markings on my "ghosts" chest were, autopsy stitching. You know from when they but the chest open and stitch it back together, but I still cannot make out what the large circle is that was in the middle of his chest either.

Oh well... off to bed. Naughty Nite All!

I know Melanie but this is as close as we can get

Now you move to this window in the Post Reply box.  Click on the little tree box.  In the image URL box there is the http://.  Click on it to highlight it and then do a paste.

That should do it.  Then once you see your picture in the message box, you can click on it and reduce it's size if you need to with the arrows at the corners.

Karen I dont think the muscle relaxer will let me comprehend all that tonight

Melanie, Katie tried to set us up a chat room but couldnt get it to work

I'm excited to see pics. Don't see them often on here.

Hey, would a muscle relaxer help with the rib pain I'm having tonite? I took a vicodin and a hot bath, but I'm still in too much pain to sleep.

Wouldn't hurt Melanie.  Sorry you're hurting so much!Hi, Karen! Love your icon!

Here is a photo of Moana's daughter:

 I'm gonna beat you girl

Ok thanks for all the help

He took 2nd place - He was robbed.  Menopause Barbie won.  Now really!

Dont whine Karen Second place is an honor

He should have won 1st!! I'd be mad

You and your kids have lived such a colorful life! Sounds so fun. Is your whole family into the acting and stuff?

Yep.  Hubby and I work behind the scenes.  My daughter, middle son and future SIL all went to college for theatre and are now trying to break into the business.  And my youngest (seen in the photo, LOL) is a lighting designer and Master Electrician for a few theaters around our area, but every once in a while he acts too.

This was just at a party we went to with a bunch of our theater friends.

How Cool I bet you've met some famous people, heck you LIVE with famous people

Still that must be exciting! The only famous people I know is one of Trey's friends has gotten a recording contract and is in Nashville making a cd. He's really good and so cute. He's in one of the  pictures I wanted to post . Darnit

Oh and my neighbors son played pro football for awhile He sucked in the pros though

We know a couple of people from our theater that have had moderate success, they are able to support themselves by acting.  One girl who started at our theater got the part of Belle in Beauty and The Beast on Broadway, and was also the best friend of Tracy in Hairspray on Broadway.  Another one has been on Will & Grace, Law & Order, and was took over the lead from Amanda Peat in Barefoot in the Park.

My son Jamie usually works during the rehearsals for most of the national acts, so he has been able to meet a lot more people than I have.  It's pretty fun for him.

He got his guitar signed by the Beach Boys and Doobie Brothers.  That was exciting.  Tommy Smothers was teaching him how to Yo Yo.  What a claim to fame!

I love barefoot in the park, bess armstrong and robert redford.. I love the doobie dros, saw them in concert back in the day. Law and order is my favorite crime drama show, I love it when they have a marathon on Saturdays

I remember watching the smothers brothers when I was real little. My mom loved that show

I have a nephew Jamie

Catch you tomorrow!  Sorry about the prank, I couldn't resist!

Karen

Ok talk to ya tomorrow g/nite

 The prank was hillarious
