OT-Just had dental surgery | Arthritis Information

I had what was left of my two front teeth extracted today, and my jaw drilled to put spikes in to hold my new ones. OUCH!

Oh well, at least the worst is overwith and I have some temporary teeth in so I can eat(whenever the pain goes down). He gave me percocet 7.5/325 x20qty so I should be ok.

Glad you've gotten the worst behind you. Hope you feel better. Use the day to get some rest.

Well, I said it on a nother tread, but OUCH! That sounds really awful, but I hope it gets feeling better soon.

He couln't find the keys that open the cylinder. He could have mentioned that in the first place but you know what ....he is a good guy!

Second... Now you are scaring me. I just went through a tissue and bone graft and will be getting my implants in January. The bone graft was bad enough - but of course I'm a big whimp!

Well as long as you are not on a TNF drug, you don't have to take antibiotics, but if you are you should for any procedure, especially dental.

I used to work for an oral surgeon so I know all to well what you went through and all I have to say is OUCH!!!!!!! Why didn't he offer you sedation????? I would have made them drug me very well first! Lovie, mine only charges . but it makes me mad. You'd think after charging a few thousand for the crowns they could give me the gas for free. But oh no. She's a good dentist though, and always takes me through the relaxation exercises and makes sure my shoulders aren't tensed up and throughout whatever prodedure I'm having, constantly makes sure I'm relaxing and deep breathing.[QUOTE=cskalski]

First off I would like to say... OUCH! And I am never going to a dentist EVER! First it was big long needles, and now big pliers!! No thank you... I will deal with my teeth on my own.

Ok now ... chris... see that quote of your post above? It looks like how you would talk with a semi-numb mouth and pain. I can even see the drool running outta your mouth about the "violently" part.

When my boys needed their wisdom teeth out, our insurance wouldn't cover them being asleep for it. No way was I gonna put them through that awake as both had all four teeth impacted. We had to pay an additional 0 for each of them for the general anesthesia.

When I had my wisdom teeth removed they gased me AND did some IV thing. OMG I've never woken up so sick in my entire life.

I'd rather be awake. Dead serious. I am now TERRIFIED of going under.

Thanks for all the replies. I wss kinda doped up on a few of my comments, like "Iwas held in my korean straps" means I was held down by 4 people. Novacaine was administerd, but it wore off fast. The good news was he let me go after only 1hour in the chair , including fitting me for my temporary bridge, which bled all night.I took like 4 ambien and 6 percocets and slept for 5 hours. He said he would give me more percocet if this was inefective. We will see.....

Love and thanks for checking on me while I was passed out!!!

Ps...today the pain is at least bearable. Gonna go get me another nap!!!!
