Hey! I think it is working! | Arthritis Information

I took my darvacet and a robaxin and 5mg of pred. Still waiting to hear back from RD.

Anyways... I am not in that much pain now. I think the darvacet is working!!! Neck is still stiff and hard to turn my head, but it was like that last night. I guess I am going to have to take another robaxin before it lets my neck loosen up... it seems to take 2 doses of robaxin to loosen up my neck enough to where I can move it around. Good thing I can take the robaxin up to 4 times a day, but I have yet to get pass 2 times, and then I do not take it again for a few days when my neck gets unbearable again.

Hey... does this make me a "druggie", I am already a "Pred Junkie". YAY!!!  Glad that is working for you!!!

YAY for some relief!!!

It's about time the Biscuit got some help.

Glad your feelin better Joonie yay Joonie, glad you are feeling better. What is robaxin? I'm not familiar with that med. Hopefully it is a muscle relaxer, because it sounds like what you need for your neck. Keep getting better sweetie!Great news Joonie.  Long may it continue!!

Good news!  Joonie, you have to take your meds to feel good.  It doesn't make you a junkie.  It just makes you a person who has RA and needs meds to try and live a normal life.  Lindy

I'm glad it's working Joonie! I also want to know what robaxin is. What kind of side effects, if any, have you had? My neck is also bad and I can't turn it either way so I'd like to hear more about this stuff!

Here's to a relatively pain free night!

woohoo Joonie glad your getting relief finally

Miles~ Robaxin is a kick butt muscle relaxer, I just got it two days ago and ohh-la-la

Are you using a neck brace? You can make one by rolling up a bath towel and pinning it around your neck.

Total rest for 24 hours minimum is the only thing that fixes my poor husbands neck when it goes nuts on him.

I hate the neck thing - hope you get over it this weekend.

Whoops I thought it was Friday already. I'm tired.Glad to hear you're getting some relief Joonie. Try to get some rest. [QUOTE=joonie]

Thanks for the encouragement everyone!

Marian... I usually prop the pillow under my neck and it stretches it out some. No, no neckbrace. My GP wants me to get an MRI done of my neck to see why it is bothering me soo much. But she said only if my new RD did not do it, that they would order me to have one done.

It is weird... go from can't hardly move, hurting and grouchy... to still swelled but little to no pain and mellowed out. I bet my hubby and kids are happy I am not grouchy anymore, as I am not yelling like a banshee because they are grating on my nerves that were already being grated on because of the pain and just not being able to move annoying me.

Body parts are still swelled, but at least not much pain.

My RD still did not call me back. I think she was at her other office, she has like 3 of them the one I went to is her main office. She is not at this office on Friday, so maybe she will get back to me. I am going to start on the pred flare like stated on the bottle. Might as well, I am not doing so well and a lot more swelling going on. and I still have to wait until Saturday to get my Humira shot. Easier to remember to get it took if I take it on Saturday.

Try the towel anyway. It gives the neck muscles a chance to relax - after all your head weighs about 20lbs. Could you hold up a bowling ball all day and get over wrist pain? I think those muscles have to rest and heal before the pain will ease up.

I hope your cervical joints have not been ruined. Mine have been damaged, but are not a wreck. My husbands are actually worse than mine, so the neck pain he gets is not just muscle, but the muscle relaxers and using his neck brace usually will get him out of misery in a day or two. (Still hurts - but not big time.)

I hate the neck thing. It is much worse than bad feet, it interfers with everything you do. Sorry you have this mess going on.

Hope you feel better soon.

Joonie - you go girl!

Marian - I will try the towel when I lay down to watch my movie that I am waiting for hubby to fix the DVD player up to my tv in the bedroom.

Last night my neck was soo stiff, that it caused me to have a BAD headache that was just at the base of the back of my head and worked its way up to mid way of my head before I fell asleep. The more I tried to move my head or sit up the worse the headache got. I had to have hubby rub my neck and it hurt like a mo'fo! It was enough to make me cry him rubbing my neck. I lost my breath and my face felt like it was on fire from all the pain that him rubbing my neck.

It sucked big time! But I did wake up this morning about 3 hours after I fell asleep without a head ache and my neck just really really stiff.

Joonie, I get neck and shoulder muscle headaches.  They're the worst.  Hurts just to blink my eyes.  Glad you got releif from that. Thanks Link!
