Love your icons | Arthritis Information

 

 Some of you have the cutest icons. How do you get those?They aren't offered when you do your profile. PLS give me easy instructions, because my computer is way smarted than I am !

I'm new here too, but since I have my own board of a completely different nature maybe I can help a little?

first thing you do is find a small image you like and want as your avatar on google ( always check the pixel size first which is located directly underneath the image - the size for this board is 85 x 85 I think? ) Right click on that image and 'save as' This should save the image to your desktop or anywhere else you want it. The open up a photo album such as Photobucket or Imageshack. Click the browse button and select the picture you wish to have uploaded. Then click the upload button.

Once you have done that, come back to this forum and click 'Settings' at the very top. Then click 'Edit profile' Scroll down til you see a section that says 'select avatar' with a box alongside of it and the word 'preview' next to that.
You can upload direct from there but I always find it safer to use the photo album.
Next go back to your image that you want from your chosen photo album and right click on 'Direct Link' copy that and then paste the url in the box right next to the words avatar and preview.

Scroll down then click update and hey presto!! you have an avatar of your own choice. :)
Amazonian39321.2112731481I just uploaded one of my own photographs of my cat.  Can't remember how I did it though.  RA brain, can do something one day and not remember how the next day, especially with computers.
