Rash on feet? | Arthritis Information

I have a rash on my feet, both, some spots are dark red and others are lighter and blotchy.  It doesn't itch or hurt at all.  Is this related to RA or something completely different?  Since I have all 3 kids home, and working now from home, I just can't run to the Dr. to have them look at spotty colors on my feet that don't bother me.

zakatak-is rash on bottom or top of feet? mine get very blotchy red on bottom(not rashy though)from joints being hot inflamed.sherry

Karen, at the risk of contributing nothing worth while, here goes.

A year or more prior to RA dx, I had an itchy rash that originally started on the tops of my feet. It spread to my wrists and the backs of my legs, between the knee and butt. These areas were so itchy. I sometimes could not focus on anything but scratching!!!!! My GP and Dermo both said eczema. I've got a steroid cream it which tends to help. Months later, here come the RA symptoms of achy joints, fevers, etc... My Rheumy has so wanted to correlate the itching and the joint pain as one disease. Dermo did a biopsy and could not come up with PA. In fact, she said that the physical manifestation did not look like psoriasis. In the Rheumy's mind, the fact that these two distinct diseases hit me at a similar time is suspicious. We are still working on linking the two as I’m achy and itchy all the time.

I AM SORRY BUT THAT IS THE SIGNS OF PSORIASIS!!!!  I have the rash on my feet, base of back, elbows, knees, scalp, and even in my ears!!!  Just like taking the ra test and having it come back negative so can psoriasis.  I have ra, pa, and oa.  I am on a mix of mtx and enbrel, the mtx is being changed to arava, the mtx and I don't get along.  But the combination of these medicines keeps the psoriasis in check and helps to clear it up.  I had pain for years in various joints, etc, I was diagnosed with ra and oa over 5yrs ago now, but the meds were not helping and the pain was getting worse, the dr noticed the psoriasis, but never put 2 and 2 together, when I had a new dr she IMMEDIATELY  sent me to an rd and the rd checked me over and was furious, I had pa and have had for a long time even longer than the ra he thinks.  So I would get a second opinion Mike as to whether or not you have pa.  Oh and for those that don't know you can have pa and not even have an area of your body infected with psoriasis.  meme

Meme, to add a few more details: Dermo 1 did the biopsy on an itchy elbow patch and the lab said "lichen simplex". A few months later, Dermo 2 did a visual inspection and said that it didn't have the look of psoriasis, plus with the mtx, it most likely would have gone away. I don't have any scalp irritation and no nail involvement, hence no PA dx. The rheumy did nearly call it that until the various dermos had a look. So, for the time being, just a mystery.
