Hi all.....does anyone know if you have to be off Orencia for any length of time before undergoing surgery?   I have to have TMJ surgery again and a wrist replacement.....AND is there a time frame you have to wait to undergo a second surgery?  My wrist and jaw are sooooo painful and wish they could be done the same day!!

thanks, pat

Pat,

When I was on Orencia and had surgery we did the operation in the middle of the cycle and went ahead with the next infusion post op once the stitiches were out and the surgeon gave his OK.

I'll be finding out in about 2 weeks if I am a candidate for writ replcement.  One wrist is already fused  so I'd like to maintain motion in the oher for as long as possible.  Every year of time I but gives technology another year to improve things.  I only hope my wrist is capable of supporting the prothesis

I don't know about your question Pat; but I wanted to wish you well with both surgeries.

I don't know either, but wanted to wish you well with your surgeries.

I know it seems like just getting them both over with would be the best thing, but it really is too hard on your body. I don't know what type of surgeries they will be but perhaps you could have the second done soon after, when your post-op pain has abated some.

I need to find out about Orencia, as my rheumy is contacting the mfg. to see if it is possible for me, but I'll start a new thread for that.

Let us know what you find out and when they'll be done.

By the way, Welcome to the group!
