Back from the Ortho | Arthritis Information

I am back from the doc and I think I like him.  He went through my history, took the xrays of my foot and then we talked.  He said that my xrays look good and that he sees no permanant damage to my bones/ joints {{{yippee}}}.  He said it is synovitis and that the synovium is just so inflammed that it needs to rest.  He can feel the lump of swelling in the two joints with his hands.  So, he suggests a cortizone injection, wearing the boot for a couple days until the swelling goes down and then prescription orthotics which will take the pressure of the MTP joints of my feet.  I say go for it

Okay, the shot itself did not hurt but man the when they are injecting the fluid into it I thought my joint was going to explode!!!! Ouch!!!!!  He said within 24 hours I should notice a difference.  He was honest and said it may not work but because I have RA it is usually more receptive to steriods (yeah we all know that) than most disorders.  So, I am at work recovering from the shots and going to pick up my orthotics tonight... wish me luck because other than this foot I haven't even been stiff in the morning...
