Hello to all of you with AS and others too,

After 10 years of pain and denile I think I am finally ready to accept my diagnosis of AS.  Reading all of your postings has been a great help.  Thank you!

Now that I know why I hurt so much I am looking forward to learning from all of you about the proper path for medication.

Please share your success stories with me and also give me advice on which meds to skip all together.

I am considering Enbrel with Methotrexate.  Any thoughts?  What about pain relief with those meds?

What about corticosteroids?  The eye drops for Iritis seemed to loosen up my neck.  Has anyone experienced that?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kimberly,

Just saw your posts as I was passing through and stopped by because I have a friend with AS.  She's been on MTX injectable for many years and it helps her.  I take 20 mg. weekly for RA type issues and it's starting to help after four months.

I think you may find it a struggle to get as much support here as you would like.  The Rheumatoid Arthritis board is much more active and I know you'd all be welcomed with open arms.  You do have an autoimmune disease, after all.  Try us!!

Hi kimberly, I just posted in the other thread about my husbands denial of AS. And now see that you were in denial for 10 years. I so hope my hubby isnt for that long. He might be totally fused by then. I have psoriatic arthritis and have just started enbrel. only two shots so far but it has been fantastic. The fatigue was gone the afternoon of the first one. And I am so loving catching up on housework that hasnt been done for 5 years. I was only able to keep up with the basics each day and now i am washing windows, curtains etc etc this is the first time I have felt almost normal in the whole 5 years since it began.
