Hahahaa!! I beat Shannon on making the OT post for the day.

To Shannon - Neener neener neener you gotta weiner.

Ok... will talk to ya'll when I wake up. I had to get my even # of posts, otherwise it would have ate at me all night, and I would have felt compelled to get outta the bed and log on and post just so I could go to sleep knowing I went to sleep with an even # of posts.

SHEW!! That was a long sentance. I even think I stopped breathing while typing it like I was actually saying it in one breath.

Ok... will be back in 12-14 hours LMAO!! Just Kidding. More like noon.

We're off to an appointment this morning for Isabel's lead levels so I am up very early.  I hope everyone has a good day.  I'll check in later.

I just wanted to add some info on this thread re: cars, jobs and weddings. (not necessarily in that order)  This was on yesterday's daily chat.

Linn- My wedding was done buffet style with finger foods and a couple of hot choices.  We rented out the hall at the boat club my grandfather was a member at.  Not sure if anyone in your family or DIL's may have that same situation.  We paid 0 for that.  When I was looking for halls, the cheapest seemed to be at places like the Elks lodge or VFW.  We had the hall for 4 hours.  They provided the bar if people wanted to buy alcohol drinks. We provided soda.  The food, we bought at a local discount supermarket.  Where I lived at the time it was Save A Lot. There's also places like Price Rite, Shop Rite etc.  Not sure if any or all are near you.  The prices for food are much cheaper there than at a regular grocery store and they do have name brand food.  We bought cold cuts, sandwich rolls, chips and dip.  Our hot meals were chicken wings, spicy and regular.  Also baked ziti.  Grandmother and Mother made some of their special dishes too.  Appetizers were cheese, crackers, pepperoni, salami.  My mother made the cutest cheese tree.  She bought a styrofoam christmas tree from a craft store.  Covered it in lettuce and toothpicked squares of cheese all over the tree.  Desserts were cookies, cupcakes, some mini eclairs.  Total cost of food, maybe 0 including 10 bottles of peach wine.  Wedding cake was made by a family friend who was a baker.  Mom paid for that so not sure how much that cost but she said around 0.  We had a dj who was a relative of hubby.  MIL paid for that.  But he was awful.  Kept taking off.  He was a relative and really shouldn't have been dj.  We could have just used my bro's cd player which had space for 6 cds and was programmable.  This was for 100 people.

Katie- my brother is an auto mechanic now driving trucks.  Best cars to buy Toyota, Honda and Nissan.  They last longer and they hold their resell value better.  I have a fully loaded 95 Nissan Maxima with over 100,000 miles. It's book value is still around ,000 for good condition last time I looked( a year ago). Of course with Kelly Blue Book, there are 2 resale book values given.  One for private sale and one to a dealer.  Honestly I can't remember which one I looked at.  Hyundai's although good for the warranty and price seem to have transmission issues around 100,000 miles and sometimes even before.  I've had a few because they cost less and also for the warranty.  The resale value on them is terrible.  In my experience, I ended up owing more than the car was worth.

Joonie-  If you're interested in a job, you might try places like west.com.  They hire people to work from home taking customer service calls for various clients.  Plus side, you can set your own hours and you don't have to go anywhere.  There are a couple of requirements as far as computer connection type and home phone.  Down side, you're an independent contractor which means that they don't take taxes out and you are responsible for paying the taxes on the income during tax time.  With the typing skills you have, getting into something like that shouldn't be too difficult. When I worked at Home Shopping Network, we hired them to take some of our calls during holiday season.  They got paid roughly what our new hires did. Around /hr and had much less responsibility because HSN wouldn't give them access to a lot of the company's functions. Mainly the West reps took orders from shoppers.  Not a difficult job.

Anyway, off to get Isabel some breakfast before our long car ride.  We have 2 hours worth of travel because of the morning rush hour.  Hope everyone has a wonderfu, pain free day.

Hugs to all,

Steph

Goodmorning!! Dammit Joonie I like being the first one to make the chat post in the morning.  Screw up my routine in the morning why dont ya...

Steph~Good luck w/ Isabels appointment today.  Let us know how it goes. How old is she?

Katie~ I totally see you driving a Jetta too!  How exciting to get a new car.

I need to start staying up later so i can join in the fun goings on in AI land...I always miss the fun

I will probably spend more time on when I am actually awake.  I can't wait until I am better again.

 Good Morning Everyone

It's 8:30am and a beautiful start to the day here in N.C.. Just sat down with my first cup of coffee and logged on to see how everyone is doing this am Hope ya'll have a safe and great day today! I'm off the have my hair trimmed and highlighted (or i would still be in bed) so wish me luck!

Joonie you have ruined Shannons day! Shame on you!

Shelly hope you get a lot of rest today! Enjoy your massage!

moana39323.2311805556Almost out the door and headed to work.  Not much is happening at work this week because we're moving to a new office.  We packed up all the servers yesterday... including some that belonged to a group that's not moving until NEXT weekend. They were NOT happy.

Shelly~I hope all goes well at the doc today, let us know. ANd thanks for the reception ideas, I appreciate that.

Shannon~ I think a memorial for your grandpa sounds really really nice.  That's what we did when my dad died last year, he was cremated too.

Mo~ Hope your hair turns out just like you like it

I intend to take care of as little "business" as possible today, and just rest before I end up a total disaster.

Mornin all!! Ugh ugh ugh I'm about to "start" so I'm not really in a good mood. Just wanna crawl back in bed, honestly. Hehe Thanks for the car info, Steph!

I talked to my mom and dad last night....jesus you'd think that I'd stabbed 'em both cause I haven't called in a week. Oh and I just turned that dagger when I told them we might not be coming up there for Christmas. GUILT TRIP ANYONE!??!?! *rolls eyes*

Anywho...I think I'm going to veg and stare at the TV until I have to shower for work. I'll be around later, at work...heheheh

GOOD MORNING Everyone, Can't believe I'm up so early.....jeesh, someone take Lyrica away from me.  The fog has parted and I feel like the person I was 3 years ago.  I'm almost afraid to talk about it; I'm afraid that it will disappear.  I'm back - don't know for how long but I'm back.

Katie, I just got the same reaction from all of Stan's nieces when I told them I didn't think we'd be seeing them at Christmas time or Thanksgiving.  We want to spend the time with friends.  We've had way toooo many family holiday times.  We'll go up before the holidays and help out, take the little nieces and nephews out for their special day.  Several years ago all the little girly nieces got dressed in their best dresses, and I took them for English tea and Stan took the boys to paintball.  Don't know what we'll do this year.  Happy car hunting.

Michelle, Please take it easy.  I know you said you were.  I have PA but never had any patches until just recently.  I have one on my leg that's not responding to treatment.  What do you do to keep it from spreading or getting worse or even clear it up?  PA has been worse for me than RA and I understand when you say it feels like your whole body is shutting down.

Jasmine, LMAO at your description of the blue hairs.  What do you think it's like for a blue hair to be on Pred?  I are one and it's not pretty sometimes.  Except I keep my blue hair under L'Oreal camo.  I've seen a group of  blue hairs fight over 1 dining room chair and it came to blows being thrown.  I had to step in and seperate them.  One of the funniest things I've ever seen.  I'm surprised they didn't knock me out because I was laughing so hard at them.

Shannon, I always miss the late night fun also, can't stay up that late.  You guys need to start the late night fun part earlier.

Hi Joonie and Steph, have a good day and hello to anyone I missed.

I'm off to get some breakfast and do a little housework.  Want to go to pool and exercise today.  My muscles are sore from Mon.'s workout, so I gave it a little rest yesterday, but I did hit some golf balls which hasn't helped.

Lindy

Lindy, I understand how you feel.  Obviously, I have not found a way to keep it from spreading. I have a "new patch" down my leg this am, and one started on my other arm.  I use taclonex cream.  It is a high powered steriod cream with magnesium in it.

Well part of feeling worse is the inclusion of the ligament inflamation.  So the joints and the ligaments are inflamed...making it a mess.  Having PA is like having RA and Fibromyalgia together.

I think I am going to get my school district picture done before my massage, and then just come home and sleep.  I feel like I took 20 percoset, and 20 vicodin!

Katie feel better and do some resting.  Drink some pepermint tea and go back to sleep for  a while.

Lindy~Do you mean that the Lyrica makes you sleepy or hard to get up? I wasn't sure what you meant by that statement. Can you elaborate? I've just been on the night time dose for the last few years (To avoid that) and I have a feeling that once I see the neruo he's going to recommend I increase it to add the morning dose. I'm a little nervous about doing that because I can't afford the have any kind of brian fog while I'm at work. It does help though.....but I'm a little worried about an increase. Good Luck with your surgery (Skin cancer) tomorrow if I miss the change to mention it later.

Katie~I love VW's. My Aunt has a bug and loves it! It's so cute too! I also know someone with a Jetta. It's so pretty! My sister had one years ago and although it lasted forever and she loved it; it was expensive to get it worked on. You might want to consider that when thinking about VW's. Could be just something she was facing; I don't know. No one else has ever mentioned that to me before. I've had Toyota's and Honda's. Loved the Honda's. My second one I gave my son when he turned 16. It's a 2000 Accord LX. Great Car! He's still driving it; although the resale value has gone down now since his accident

I hope everyone has a great "Hump Day". One day closer to the weekend!

HEY~Michelle; Can you post a picture of the skin patches you have? You too Lindy if you have any you can post. Lovie, the Lyrica has helped the fibro and nerve pain in my legs, the MXT and Remicade has stopped the RA and PA pain.  All of a sudden the brain fog has lifted.  I think the combo was just what I needed.  I'm taking 75mg of Lyrica 3 times a day.  When I first started it I felt like I was stoned.  Sort of dopey but it only lasted a few days.  I seem to have more energy since I've been on it.  I'm sleeping soundly, can get up early in the morning.  That's basically all I can tell you, I feel almost normal for an overweight 62 year old.  I always had an abundance of energy and it's back.  I'd post a picture but don't know how.  I'm going to try and email them to one of the forum members and they'll post for me.  Will try later today.  Lindy

Ok I told ya'll I would be back around noon, I am just an hour late tis all! I was talking to MIL and then Hubby and then called my mommy, but no answer. She is probably off gallavanting about with her friend. She is hardly home anymore.... sad when my 73 year old mother gets out more than I do.

Anyways... just a "Life Sucks" day for me.

Steph - Thanks for the suggestion, will look into it with the rest of my looking into.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Lovie, thanks for the heads up on VW's I was thinking that as well....I really am itching for a Civic or a Camry. I can actually work on those cars myself to an extent, so there's a chance to save money!

I am at work right now and trying to figure out the schedule, without having anyone jumping down my throat about "I want this day off wah wah wah" *rolls eyes* Anywho....after shift change I'll probably be back!

I have news about Justin's mom............ARGH!
Oh and Jasmin! I have never seen "beer" and "church" all mentioned in a sentance together in a while
Jasmine---I was brought up Catholic so i know EXACTLY what your talking about!!! Now there's a way to make money. Stay sober and run a taxi service that night!!!!!!
Lovie, thanks for the heads up on VW's I was thinking that as well....I really am itching for a Civic or a Camry. I can actually work on those cars myself to an extent, so there's a chance to save money!
I'm impressed! You can work on your own car? Lord girlfriend; I don't even know how to raise the hood! lol

You go girl! That's awesome.
Thanks Lin - at least I know I'm not the only one being guilt tripped!!! The thing is, the last time I saw my parents was last August...*sigh* But we just want to have Christmas to ourselves, and we were looking forward to a vacation for just the two fo us in January. My parents expect me to drop all and come see them once a year, every year...but I have my own life now and the fact of the matter is that we live on opposite sides of the country! I dunno. I feel like a bad kid sometimes.
My mom lives in the same town as me and we rarely see her.  She's a bit of a head case; I learned a long time ago that her problems are not my problems and I refuse to feel guilty because she doesn't know how to behave.
My dad lives one town over and we see him all the time.  Of course, dad is always accepting and respectful, and doesn't tell me how rotten I am right in front of his grandkids.

Lovie - yes, I can do some things! Change batteries, check all the fluids, check cables and wires, and with a little bit of instruction I can change fuses and distributor caps and airflow vents....hehehe

No, not Catholic, but Hubby's Grandpa is and well... since he is diabetic now... he does not drink the wine.

I was just talking about something from my past. I use to go to church with one of my best friends, they were the hippy/biker type. Their church was actually a bunch of people who lived together in a big house and they had their services at the house. I just remember when I would go with them, after church service my friends stepfather would pop open a can of beer and smoke "one".

Yeah been a long time since I have seen that.

I'm sure once their grown it's different; but it's still about family.

I too can see how that's hard.

We almost always have Christmas dinner with Dad.  We usually have Christmas Eve dinner with Mom (that's how it was always divided after the divorce).  But get this... last Christmas mom had a bug up her butt about something and went to San Diego over Christmas WITHOUT TELLING US.  We tried and tried to call; no answer.  When she eventually came roaring back into town in January, she made a point to tell my boys that she did not buy them any Christmas presents because she was going to spend what little extra money she had on her new 00 dog (bichon frise?).  And then she went all around town whining that she didn't get to see her grandsons at Christmas... so I look like the ass (until, of course, I explain to these well-meaning cronies of hers that SHE was the one that took off!!!).  She even came to a Bingo game to read me the riot act... OMG she's a nut.  So we limit our time with her.

HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE THAT?!?!?!??!??!??! Maybe I should tell my mom that story?

I'm just frustrated today. And to top it all off......Justin's mom was supposed to go in to have the SECOND tumor (it came back in the same spot) removed this morning. And she did.....she let them prep her and everything....and then she bailed. She signed an AMA, and went home. *sigh* Justin talked to her and she was back to the not doing any treatment "oh well, I'm just gonna die anyway" "I guess I'll never get to see you kids again"

And he was mad at her this time, not for making that decision, but for being so wishy washy about it all, and messing with everyones emotions. And I can understand that, but I did explain to him that she is in a TOTALLY different place in life and he can't expect to ever understand how she's feeling. He just has to go with her on it, and just keep telling her that he loves her.

Whew, I was long winded, SORRY!!!!
Jasmine~ is their something wrong with your mom, I mean medically?  Or is she just kinda, well, wacky?
She's had some health concerns - she had colon cancer 6 years ago (she's doing fine now) and she claims she has fibromyalgia.  Perhaps she does, but in her case I do not think it is nearly as bad as she claims.  I don't mean to sound cold, but when she claims she's "too crippled up" to hand her grandson a soda, but two hours later she's out dancing and drinking with her friends... she has no problem picking up drinks at the bar, or dancing and singing on stage holding a microphone.  She is "too crippled up" to do her laundry (she has a washer/dryer in her apartment) but that same day she can go out and play 18 holes of golf (carrying her own clubs).  And there have been times when I've seen her at the grocery store where she's walking along just fine, plucking things off the high shelves without so much as a twinge... but once she sees one of us (or one of my friends) she practically goes into convulsions, clutching her "crippled" hand or her "crippled" knee (when just the minute before she was the picture of health and wellness).  She also takes her dog everywhere, even to the grocery store.  She claims it's an "emotional therapy animal" and she has a right under the ADA to take him into restaurants, stores, even church just like a guide dog.  Well, he weighs about 20 pounds and she has no problem lifting up his carrier and tossing it into the grocery cart.  And I haven't even gotten into the emotional/mental issues.    I know she's got some serious mental issues, but she won't seek help.  She is cruel to my children, she is cruel to me, she is cruel to my sisters.  All of us got to a point where we just could not subject ourselves to that BS all the time.  I make sure she's physically OK, but I will not go and be mentally abused and I will not subject my kids to that hell.  My sisters live out of state, so they never have to deal with her.  My youngest sister hasn't spoken to any of us in 5 years - she needed a clean break and a fresh start.  My mother used to torment her all the time about being gay.  Mom would even go to the golf course where my sister worked and lecture her about gayness in front of a class of 10-year olds my sister was teaching how to play golf.

Well, I've rambled on enough!  Gawd I'm already dreading Christmas this year.

Katie~  I am soooo sorry that she is doing this to you and espically Justin.  I couldnt imgine what she is going through but that is no excuse to do what she has done.

Jasmine~OMG hearing that story makes my family seem almost normal.  About 3 Christmas's ago or so my one aunt got drunk (as usual) and called my then 14 year old cousin that she was a slut and alot of mean things you dont say to a 14 yr old or even your neice.  THeres just a lot of issues w/ my family that i dont even want to go into.  ALOT of hurt that I dont wanna bring up again.

Sheesh Jasmine. You know, it says a lot about you and your sisters if you grew up with her like that, and are still capable of seeing right and wrong, and are able to raise a "normal" family. It's amazing what people take from their parents growing up, and to be able to learn from their mistakes and not repeat them is a big deal. So good for you!

Shan I'm sorry :( I hate to hear of broken families....though I'm starting to think that in a way, everyones is a little broken. I always thought my family was so perfect, and now that I'm older I'm starting to see how damaging they are with their "ignore it and it'll go away" mentality.

Well parents have to understand that once their kid fall in love and are in a relationship you come as a pair now. If Justin's not welcome there you aren't going to feel welcome there and you are likely going to choose him over them.

I'm not so far removed from your situation Katie that I can't understand where you're coming from. In this case your Mother is going to have to change her attitude toward the man you love if she hopes to continue to have much of a relationship with you.

I'd do the same thing. I don't blame you there.

Brit abroad.... whats a blue hair?

Evening guys, I have a toyota, runs a dream, and I too have to admit to being 'blonde' in that when the windscreen wiper water is empty I know its time to take it into the garage for a service

My mother (the lady with broken leg and drink problem) she loves having us down for xmas. We couldnt do it every xmas so every other year we make the 6 hour trip down the motorway stay for 4 days and then come home for the new year. I have to give her her due, she's always on her best behaviour (re the drinking) when we visit. She doesnt do the guilt trip, understands we have our own lives and friends. To be honest she's not the type of mother who does the telephoning (I call once a week otherwise i wouldnt hear from her for months) and she's never been a spend time with the grandkids either. She does however, like to spoil her grand kids with monetary gifts.

My husbands mother who is 73 and lives just down the street from us is completely different, a devout catholic, her life is spent at the hairdressers/church/static van on the beach and visiting her friends.... who are all dying at the moment (which she is naturally very depressed about, and which is why we're taking her on holiday in September to Portugal for a break) and she has always enjoyed doing 'stuff' with William. So he's got the best of both worlds I think.

Just thought I'd join in with the chit chat.

Jasmine, I honestly don't believe that you should feel the least bit guilty in not subjecting yourself or your famliy to cruelty.  I wonder why your mom acts the way she does?  I mean, the faking being too crippeled for this or that.  If someone is mean, they can't really expect to have people wanting to be around them.

Katie~ I understand how you feel about wanting to be at your own place this year.  I really do.  If my mom were constantly dogging my husband or kids, well, I don't think I'd want to be there either.  It's hard for a mom to like someone that they think is mistreating their kid.  I don't complain to my mom about my husband for that very reason.  It might just be some dumb thing that he's done that really means nothing, but to her it's hey, you can't treat my daughter that way.  So I just call my sister instead!!  Maybe you can set up a new routine, where you go up there every other year? If you tell her that, then she'll know it isn't so much that you DON'T want to see her, just that you really DO want to be home.  Nothing wrong with that

It's weird because she's the only one with a "grudge" My dad could care less. He's just the happiest guy right now. You'd think he would be more into the "protecting daddy's little girl" But then again, my dad has always "gotten me" If that makes any sense. My mom and I butt heads on a lot of issues. My dad, on the other hand, will hold the opinion that "at least she thinks for herself, and can care for herself, even if I don't agree with it" Which is AMAZING because out of the two, he is DEF. the pessimist. Always thinking the worst will happen

I don't have anyone else to call and talk to in my family. I'm not that close to them. I'm close, but not that close. For a while there my mom and I got along REALLY well and I told her everything. But I was single then. She's realling clinging to the car thing, and us borrowing so much money over and over again since January. We still owe them 0, which we are working on paying back, without denting us too hard. My dad is fine with that and has informed me that the account it came out of is purely extra money, so not to rush into paying it back. So I'm not going to. I'm not going to stress my pocket book for something that isn't nessicary to stress over. I WILL pay them back, I always have. But mom clings to it like it's all the money they have on earth. Its so weird.

I've been living on my own(with boyfriends, roommates and ON MY OWN) since I was barely 18, and this is really the first time I've ever called them for help, of ANY kind. So maybe that's why she thinks he's holding me back, but she has to understand that he was really sick last year, it did hurt us financially. But we did make it through, and we're okay now. I have no idea where I'm going with this....lol

Whee...we're not going to Las Vegas for Christmas, not because of family but just because we want to celebrate the holidays with friends this year.  The family is great and we always have a good time, even if the nephew has too much too drink and the kids are running wild, it's still fun.  We just want to have fun without the responsibilities of the family this year.  We may go for Thanksgiving, but not sure yet.  We will make the trip before the holidays to shop in Vegas and run around, take the little ones out for their special day with Aunt Lindy and Uncle Stan.  We both are believers that Christmas is for the kids.

Katie, I don't blame you and Justin at all.  Respect works both ways.  Your mom may love you but does she respect you and your decisions?

Sarah, A "blue hair" is an elderly person who has white hair.  The term started  probably back in the 1950's when women started to use a type of hair product that had bluing in it.  It was supposed to brighten white hair but what it did was give white hair a bluish sheen to it.  Thus the term "blue hair"  It can be a term of endearment or a form of sarcasm.

We call them pink rinses here, they have white hair that gets a rinse on it and they look pink... isnt that funny?

UGGGGG So Kelsays principal just called cause I left her a message about getting a bus waiver and well somehow during registration nobody caught where we live and she has to get transfered to a different school

Still messing with LEGOs.

Even now, 2 years later she STILL wants to go back to the Christian Academy and complains of going to the public school. I think it is because she does not get away with running her mouth and she has more homework, unlike when she was in the Christian Academy she got away with everything and then some, and then she did not have much work to do because it was sooo easy for her and she would not have homework.

Yep, good thing it was at the beginning of the school year.

I think my dog got zapped by our electric underground fence today. It was odd because he was IN THE HOUSE.

poor dog. you tazzered your own beloved pet! I bet your daughter was thinking "That is what YOU get for EATING my STUFF!!!"

I was going to say, look at the one you don't remember and go " your name was....." and hopefully she'll say it before you have a chance to utter the first letter, and then you can turn to the second one and go "and you were..ch...." and let her finish it for you. LoL They won't even notice!

I've been doing this ball game stuff a long time myself and know who's child is whos but only know a few of their names. Best to go ahead and ask them again tonight (Although by the time you read this you would have already dealt with this problem) and get it over with. It will be strange to ask three weeks from now.

OR; just don't call them by name. After a while you'll hear it again and it won't be a problem. CHanges are high though that neither of them remembered yours either and they'll be happy you asked.

Hope they win.....and you stay dry!

Softball?

Hope everyone had a good day!  With a little compazine I am finally able to sit up without wanting to throw up lol.  Stupid prednisone.

Your dog got zapped in the house??  I guess those underground fences work pretty darn well.

How was the game?  Did you guys stay dry?

I want a bucket of icing.

BUCKET.

I cannot stress that part enough.

What kind Katie?

The most fattening sh*t out there.

God I am so raggin.

Vanilla. Or Cream Cheese Frosting...mmmmmm

Cream cheese frosting.  Yum!  Actually I like vanilla too.  Now, I'm torn.  I was looking for a Mocha Cake recipe the other day and found one so easy.  I love mocha frosting.  Actually Mocha anything.

I don't think I've ever had Mocha frosting, but it sure sounds good.

Is it bad that I want to run away for the night and eat my feelings? No, I'll join you in that bucket o icing.  LOL  I've never seen Mocha frosting ready made but I've made it a couple of times and it is very good. Sweet tooth from pred.  Compazine to relieve nausea from pred.  Cell phone so hubby can call back and be given instructions on what to get from store (chocolate icing) when he gets off of work.  Priceless.  Gramma, too funny!

Chocolate icing isn't NEARLY as good as cream cheese though...

Your group of friends sure does have a fun sense of humor.

How did all of you start this OT chat for RA survivors?  This morning I posted a plea to start an Ankylosing Spondylitis chat group and have yet to hear from anyone.

Advice, anyone?

Please check out my posting if you're interested.

On this board, the RA section seems to be the most active one.  I'm not sure why.  unfortunately, I don't have much knowledge of boards like this because I've never bothered chatting on a board before this one.  I'm sure someone will come along soon with some advice.

Have a great evening.

Chocolate icing is okay but it has an after taste to me.  I think it may be from the sweetener.  I don't notice the after taste in the vanilla icing. You know just because you don't have "RA" doesn't mean you can't hang out and chat with us. I would think that your general treatment would be similar to ours, and I'm sure you suffer through a lot of the same problems we do. So stick around, hun! :)

Well, I'm off for the night.  I'm too tired.  I woke up at 3 am and couldn't get back to sleep.  Then spent the day running around with Isabel's dr's appointment.  So, I'm beat.

Have a good night.  Happy car shopping, Katie!

Night Steph!!! Yeah when I get home tonight I will not be on here much. I woke up ALOT last night and I plan on trying to catch up on my sleep tonight! Hi everybody! Don't ya'll leaveeee I just got here!

How was your day Mo'Nana?

Let the party begin!

I am here! I just came to check up on everyone.

I have not much to say today. Kinda bummed. Do not ask.

Anyways... I want some cream cheese frosting!!!! *drools*

Pred is making me want sugar. I can smell the sugar when we are in wal-mart. I cannot walk pass the cookie aisle, or candy aisle, or baking aisle without smelling SUGAR!!! It drives me nutz!

What time is it when seven hungry lions are chasing you?

 WOOHOO!!!

Hey Karen and Katie! Had my hair done today and man am I so mad. Not what I wanted at all

I was asked earlier to post pictures of the psoriasis, and here they are.  I did them myself from start to finish, so I know they are not completely in focus.  I will see if my "photographer" hubby will help me.  He actually is a professional.  I am NOT!  This is after 24 hours with the taclonex cream, and let me tell you the difference is astounding.  I wish I would have gotten pictures yesterday when it was continuously down my arm.

Ohh you need to call her, and see if there's anything she can do to fix it. With paying that much you have a right to look the way you wanna look!!

EEWWW Shelly does that stuff itch or burn? You mean they looked worse?

I sorry, Mo'Nana!

Does that itch, Shelly?

I know Katie and hubby is gonna have a fit!. Not because of the money, he dont ask but because he loves my highights to have "floozy blonde streaks"

Hey Joonie, the pred is working overtime on your emotions is my theory. Sorry love!

Yes! they looked worse.  Yes they itch and then if you scratch them or touch them it feels as if someone has set them on fire.  They hurt constantly, but I try not to touch them at all...haha!  It's kind of like the stubbed toe thing.  Jeff's sister rubbed and rubbed them as she was talking to me about her dad.  I thought I was going to deck her!

A decking at a funeral LOL, I can see it now...Hope you get relief for that soon.

Joonie your hair is still way thicker than my sisters, I't dont look bad at all, I like it.

Mona, I am so sorry about your hair.  I HATE getting mine cut, and I have to change beuticians, b/c of finances...so that causes stress.  I would not have paid for it, but I am grouchy when it comes to my hair.  It is of course my ONE and ONLY good attribute according to my mom and son! LOL!gosh,..that wasn't the only decking I would have done trust me!  I would have had to line them up including the "pastor".

Yeah... I have not had a hair cut in almost a year, this october will be a year.  I just dread getting my hair cut as I NEVER like how it looks afterwards.

Well see Tammy  put an all over darker brown on first, then pulled it through the cap to give me more dramatic hi-lights, but it looks white to me, no honey color or blonde

GRRRR!

Well I am of to bed early tonight.  Its been a crappy evening and I have to pump myself up for going to the dr tomorrow..Then Friday we are going to go to Kelsays new school and fill out whatever we need to fill out and find out about a bus.  I am NOT waking a half a mile each way..Thats 2 freakin miles a day...OMG ill so loose it if I have to.  Yea and I'm crabby so its not helping my mood and apparently everything I do is wrong, I dont apparently dont do anything blah blah blah...i just want to run away somewhere and cry

Well I go about every 6 wks to have something done so it aint like she dont know what i like

Do you cut your own hair Joonie, I do that all the time too

Get some rest, tomorrow will be better!

I hate it when people shake my hand and SQUEEZE!

Last night I had a hard time going to sleep after I got son to go to sleep around 4am. My right collar bone was hurting, it was like deep bone pain. But I went to sleep anyways.

Damn, I finally caught up with you guys.  Everytime I read a page, there was another page adding on the end.

Katie I had the same problem with my mother.  Sometimes still do and we just had our 25th anniversary.

Moana  I have found my hairdresser for life and will kidnap her if I even move.  She is the only one I let do my hair now cause she knows what I want and works miracles with my thinning crop.

I"M sorry Shannon, someone has hurt your feelings

Shelly who did you want to fight  at FIL funeral?

Shannon, I know how you feel. I will run away with you and go cry, too. I need a good cry and venting

Hey Pammy! How are ya! I thought I had found the perfect stylist too

All these stories of inlaws and outlaws males me very greatful. I never had a problem with my inlaws and my mom always stayed out of our business when we got married. She was always there if we needed her but my dad loved everybody

Mo-Nana - I wanna see your hair!  Would you like me to teach you how to post a photo????

Hey Brisen, oh goody cant wait for ya to get your coffee. It really is a good deal.

 See ya later Katie...be careful

Joonie I cant believe you hit hubby and he acted like a girl!

Now this will be a sight!

Karen I am so freakin slow to catch on!!!

 I NEED MORE BLONDE

You can have it back Brisen

I like to get everyone's goat~

I would be so pissed if my weave came out too dark.

I ususally have the opposite problem and my stylist makes it too light. I think he does it on purpose so my roots will show sooner. The last couple of weaves I've only been able to go 6 weeks. I used to be able to get it weaved every other haircut. Not anymore.

Karen thats okay it is easy to get my goat, hubby does it all the time

Brisen I have done my hilights myself and done a better job then this! I'm calling back tomorrow!

You guys are not going to believe what I did this morning. While I was curling my eyelashes, I got a sharp shooting pain in my hand while I was in the middle of squeezing the eyelash curler. My hand jerked involuntarily and I ripped out a HUGE clump of eyelashes. I look so ridiculous with this BIG bald spot in the middle of my lashes!

Ok, so I think we ALL have too much residual color.  The last time I asked the stylist...a great gay guy...to add some depth to my highlights, but make sure it doesn't have a lot of red.  Well, genius that he is I ended up with a plumbish red highlights.  My daughter said, "Gosh, did ya remind him about the red thing?"  YES!!!!!

We are at the funeral and we are sharing what Jeff's dad ment to all of us, and then the Pastor cuts it off like he has a HOT date or something.  Then he comes over to his mom and says.  Don (Jeff's dad) had a lot of good friends and they all like to talk...but I CUT THEM off for you.  I rolled my eyes...and man the arrogence of the pastor just ....MMMMMM...makes me want to PUNCH him.  I would break my hand and probably my elbow...but GGGRRRRRR!  It's a funeral and there were plenty of family members that really needed to hear some of those things for goodness sakes!!!!

YEE OUCH!  That must have hurt!

Have you seen the heated eyelash curlers?  I bought one for my daughter and she loves it!  You don't have to squeeze so hard and the curl lasts longer!  It's battery operated.

I guess the cultural thing probably leads me to have a little attitude too.

Not good to mix...Native American and IRISH!!

Michelle, I've forgotten, where are you from?OUCH!!! That must have hurt, Gale!I've seen the heated eyelash curlers in the AVON catalog, but one of the girls I work with said it was a piece of crap. I've not seen them in the store, but I think I'll check it out.

Shelly funerals can really be a trip cant they? Sorry you got so mad but I dont blame you ! How insisitive of the pastor. Jeez!

Karen I am LMBO at your eye lashes

I bought the first one at Target.  It eventually wore out so I found them on ebay.  She really loved hers and was thrilled when I got her a replacement.

Wow Michelle! I've never heard of a Pastor doing anything like that...or at least admitting to it!Well it will be a while until I even need to use ANY type of eyelash curler! Wonder how long it will take for the bald spot to fill in???We'll have to get you some falsies!

Shelly, that's crazy about your Pastor.

Mona.......I'm sure your hair doesn't look as bad as you think it does

Brisen I dont think lashes ever grow back, kind of like a tail....

Brisen do you think that Trey's Zoloft can already be having some calming effects just after 3 days? He swears he feels less agitated and nervous. He hasn't had an anxiety attack in 3 days  either. The dr did say it had some anti anxiety properties in it* shrugs*, I know it is more peaceful around here already. Should I hold my breath?

Oh wow Karen that is a beautiful place, it will be beautiful wedding . Remind us to NOT do a rain dance that day

Hey Linda, boy ya'll did get spanked

Hill...Originally I am from So. CAlf.  I claim Coeur d' Alene, ID. as my home, b/c I lived there after I was adopted and graduated High school there.  My grandfather's family was from Ohio/W. Virginia. I now live in Cheyenne, WY.  Home of the WIND...I cannot say that I love it here, but I think my joints like to be here, and my kids are in High School, so I am stuck.

Yes, that was bazzare of the Pastor, and MIL(who does not like me very much) had to ask what I thought of her pastor.  Of course I avoided the question.  I am glad she did not ask my daughter, b/c she would have gotten an ear full.

Brisen I think it takes six months for eyelashes to grow back.  So sorry, but you may learn how to put falsey's on yet!  I would!!!

Karen - The wedding site looks SPECTACULAR!!! You better be taking LOT'S of pics!

Link - Yep, you guys got whooped big time.

Mo - Yes, I do think Trey could already be feeling the effects of his Zoloft. It can take as long a month for the medication to take full effect, but many people notice a change in a few days. Christopher sure did when he started on his Paxil. Thank God for that.

And Mo...DO NOT tell me lashes don't grow back. Wrong answer!!Hillhoney, what a beautiful venue!!  Now you need to tell this Antipodean, just exactly what a clambake is!!   I've often read about them in novels - but is it exactly what it says??  Baking clams on the beach?   How?  In a Pit or on a fire!!   Please do tell!!

I'm going to jump in here, while I have a chance! You are all WAY to quick for me

First, MONA...Happy Anniversary!! Ours is TODAY

JOONIE...No one ever said anything else about hungry lions

KAREN...Think back a few pages...I have no goat to get!

What a great place for a wedding. New England has so many really charming places.

Okay, I'm done for now. Gonna go have anniversary cake with my Sweetie.

Oh, by the way, it's still early here on the west coast. Some of us will be here for a while (or come back after while.)

Hugs to All,  Nini

Wow, you have connections to so many different areas!  How interesting!

Are your Native American/Irish roots the ones from WV.  I ask because I have some of the same!

Thanks Moana.  We are excited about the location.  It's right on the water and I think it is going to work well for our needs.  Please, no rain allowed that day!

Mo, He should be feeling something.  I know when I was having panic attacks I could deal a lot better in the first week of Paxil (now on Zoloft).  To have it fully controlled will take 3-6mo.  It is nice to live without them!!  Every once in a while I can feel something like it,but I am so well controlled now, that I cannot remember the last time.  He cannot drink with it though.  Because it will relax him and slow his heart down which is what drinking does he might end up in huge trouble if he ties one on.

Kiwi, clambakes are done in a pit, with layers of wet seaweed, clams, corn, baked potatoes, and in our case, lobster!  So it's baked, but kinda steamed too, because of the wet seaweed.  It's so delicious, and so New England!  That's what she wanted!

Yes, they are all from WV.  My mom was also originally from Indiana also Native American.  Irish comes from my grandma Eaton.  Oh boy, you NEVER made grandma mad.

Yes, I think the wedding place will be absolutely astounding.  I love the New England area!  I want to visit it before I die.  Take lots of pictures or if you need a good photographer I happen to know one really well, and we can have tea together!

I've never been to the New England states (or anywhere on the east coast for that matter) and would also love to go before I die. I just wish I didn't hate flying so much.

Shelly and Brisen the Dr said he could have a few beers on the Zoloft but not the Xanax. What do ya think?

Hi Kiwi, I've never been to a clam bake either

Shelly you do look kind of Native American now that you mention it

The second problem is that drinking alcohol can also increase the risk of side effects...nause, headache, insomnia, nervousness, anxiety, somnolence, etc.

A few beers are probably not going to cause any harm, but heavy drinking is a definite NO.

Well I don't have any experience with teens on meds, but I do have experience with teens, LOL.  Sure makes for a lot of sleepless nights, doesn't it?

OMG Karen, YES!AND gray hair!!!Yeah, I always chuckle knowingly when young mother's complain about losing sleep when their kids are babies!  They have no idea!OOOh - that clambake sounds delicious!!  Thanks for the run down.  Here in NZ the Maori people cook for a crowd by making what they call a hangi.

It is also a pit in the ground type of cooking, using special stones that won't explode.  Then the food, usually a whole sheep, or side of beef, potatoes, kumara (a sweet potato) pumpkin, & cabbage.  Each different food is wrapped in leaves or sometime these days, tinfoil, and packed into metal baskets.  Then the baskets are put into the pit, wet sacks placed over the top of it all, then soil on top of that.  It takes hours to prepare the ground, and get the stones up to heat, and then ages to cook.

Then when the hangi is "opened", there is a little bit of ceremonial stuff - and the crates are loaded out onto trestles, and it's all on for young and old!!  Paper plates and fingers are to order of the day.

Families have them in their yards, and on all sorts of special occasions in various different places.  We even had them at school sometimes.

It is very popular here, but actually - I don't like it!!  Oops - not PC!!

They also do underground steam ovens as well, called an UMU, and that's nicer, and I have had crayfish from an UMU.  Food from the sea is called Kaimoana.   "Kai means food", and Moana means the sea.

(Actually when I first saw Moana's name on here, I though she may have a Maori connection, as it is a very popular girl's name here).

Most Pacific Island cultures retain some of their old ways of cooking, and particularly for ceremonial and touristy stuff.

You were really smart to get something organised so quickly.  Well done!  I'm sure it will be a huge success!

Well I'm back ladies!!

Karen, again, I LOVE that lighthouse. So pretty!!

Mo Nana, I'm sure he is feeling better. I was feeling better by day 2 of the Lexapro. And he'll feel even BETTER in a few weeks. Glad its doing something for him, he deserves it.

I forgot what else I was gonna type. Sheesh.

OH YEAH. My Grandma and Grandpa on my mommas side are mostly native american. I'm not sure of the break down or what have you, but they both really look it, and their families are from Oklahoma and Kansas. My grandma can even do traditional beading and leather work. It's all VERY beautiful.
Hi Katie! Was wondering where you've been...were you out car shopping??No no, making my nightly trek home. It's a doozy of a drive!!

thanks Brisen, I'll show this to Trey.

Well heck, daughter just came by and loves my hair and thinks I'm crazy

My 4 yr old neice started pre school Mon. and Tues almost got kicked out. Her mom is mortified but I LMBO. Hannah is very strong willed, seems to run in the family, and was told to clean up  drawing center and she said "I'm busy" like 4 times. Teacher had to pick her up and put her in time out, Hannah screamed like a banshee! Wouldn't stay in time out and very dramatically fell in the floor. Teacher was not happy.

I always knew there was something "fishy" about Moana!
No I do not cut my own hair. I let it grow out until I get fed up with it.

Shannon, I know how you feel. I will run away with you and go cry, too. I need a good cry and venting Asthma is usually diagnosed when wheezing and shortness of breath is present due to inflammation and narrowing of the bronchial tubes. Have you been wheezing???And yeah, it is kind of weird to smell the iron in your blood if it's only a small cut. It usually takes a larger amount of blood to be able to smell it.Yeah. I think I do. And I've always had issues with being short of breath, or getting myself into coughing fits. DEEP LUNG coughs. But they always listen to me breathe in and out at the Docs office and no ones ever said anything. And I've noticed that my heartburn has come back full force, right after my day of being SOOO coughy, short of breath, and generally ill.

Perhaps it's just GERD?? I know that can make you cough....I have no idea. I think I have pink eye too. LMAO Isn't that dandy?? A co-workers daugher has it, and when I went into the bathroom at work, my INCREDIBLY bloodshot eyes were screaming at me. *sigh* If they're still bad in the morning I'm going to call my PCP and see if I can squeeze in before work tomorrow. Maybe I'll mention the coughing then.
Must be that Native American blood!  It is a small cut. It's not even a cut really. I had a little zit on my arm, and I popped it and it bled a little, and yeah I can smell the iron. I think. It's like smelling coins. Metallic.

Sounds like you need a *day off* tomorrow!

Why are you sniffing a popped zit on your arm???

Jasmine I think we should all go to New Zealand and watch naked men dance around ceremonial food pits

Katie are you a flipping bloodhood. I never "smelled blood". Brisen probably has *gags*

Kiwi your tales are like listening to another world. I love you and Karen's stories, even if I am the butt of her jokes

Kiwi have you ever been to the states? Is it a whole lot different?Oh hubby calls me  Moaner cause I'm always complaining OK, that was just WAY TMI!

ooohhhh that smellll... cant ya smellll that smelll

Lynard Skynard anyone?

Wath? Katies fault she reminded me of songHahaha Sorry!!! I'm with you Gale TMI katie   Jay is so sneaky!!!lmao Fine!! I'll never share info with you prudes again!!  Yes Moana you have to watch those middle aged, greying, boys with growing bellies. They are very sneaky! *gasp* Jay said a cuss word! That's OK Katie. You go ahead and sniff your zits every 28 days and then share with us. We're here for ya girlie!
That's OK Katie. You go ahead and sniff your zits every 28 days and then share with us. We're here for ya girlie!
LOL so 28 days from today those with weak stomachs should avoid the OT threads

I can't imagine what Katie's sniffer will be like when she's pregnant!
That's OK Katie. You go ahead and sniff your zits every 28 days and then share with us. We're here for ya girlie!
I'm not I am going to put a note in my calendar to stay away in 28 days.

I hope not as bad as my cousins. Poor girl puked at EVERYTHING. She said she could smell so much stuff, it was overwhelming and it made her puke. She had to hold her breath near gas stations, and near running cars. OMG she was so miserable.

Know whats REALLY weird though? After she had Cody, she lost all sense of smell and has never regained it. No one knows why.
Katie - You're going to have to start posting under the name "Aunt Rose" on your 28th day so Jay knows when to stay away.

That is why I can smell the SUGAR on the candy, cookie, bakery, and baking aisles!

Hubby calls me a bloodhound. I can smell anything around that time of the month. And certain smells will make me wanna PUKE!LMAO I just won't talk about it. Or we need a code!! Hmmm......Yeah I'm not that creative. I just won't talk about it...

Katie I'll be here for ya precious

Jay and Karen with the cussing all over you heads.... I will go down at some point, but I will not go down with cuss all in my hair as long as Lady Clairol is my friend!

*in asian voice* Oh SEEXXYYY, GirrrlFriend!!

It reminds me of my daughter when she was little - she would go Sniff, Sniff  - "Hey mommy, I smell like something". well hey Joonie did you and Linda get lost? Where is Linda? Where you been, did you go cry and feel better now? karen was the smell her brothers butt? Mine says that all the time and it ends up being her brother bootay.

I also have about 4-5 humminbirds but can not talk them into staying still.

Oh Jay they're so pretty!!! We don't really get butterflies here. I really miss them. We don't get lightning bugs either. I wonder what it is about this area? We've got some nasty ass cockroaches and palmetto bugs though.....boy what a trade off....*rolls eyes*

Long Duck Dong!

I have been messing with LEGOs again. I cannot help myself.

Man, I asked hubby to pour me some milk in my bowl of cereal, and he like FLOODS the bowl! You see milk and then I have to DIG the cereal from under the milk! It was a full gallon of milk, so I had to get hubby to open and pour it for me otherwise we would have a milk mess in the kitchen, and we do not want that with milk being .28 a GALLON!!

  BRB I'm hungry

Auto Mo Bile is how my dad used to say that word!  He also said "Shivolet" for Chevrolet!

Very nice pictures Jay...I can always count on you for great pictures.

I don't think I am feeling very well, and we had great spaghetti and meatballs.

Mona, I am mostly Native American with both sides being from different tribes.  Ooooo...a new cause for arthritis warring tribes???! It makes as much sense as some of the other "theories".  And just enough Irish to make my hair turn red really easily...when Loreal and me have our dates.  Oh...and just a little temper...when Pastors are stupid at funerals.

I am with you Mona,  I will not cuss any day of my life!!!

Heheheeee Shivolet!

I say Chevylet. Hubby gets annoyed when I say that, but for some reason I cram words together unknowingly and make new words. *shrugs shoulders*

My Dad said ORRAL for OIL till he died. Brothers and sisters and I still talk about it.

Ok who is cussing and why?!

Hubby use to tell me when we were dating, and I would say something that "You friggin' idiot!" He would tell me "If you are going to "cuss", go for the gold!"

Dont get me started on names I crack up people telling my family names. Wanna hear some moana39323.9173611111

Jay said that saying "grey hair" was cussing.  I am not cussing EVER!  I have dates with a little bottle!

My daughter tells me it is theraputic to cuss some times.  She says sometimes you just have to MAKE your point, and that is the best way.  HMMMMM!  I could think of others.....decking a pastor....maybe??!!

Oh... hubby's grandpa fought in the Korean War... and when he tells someone he is a Korean Veteran... he says Korean like "Korear".

Yeah... when I first meet hubby's grandpa he told me about how he got some "nookie" while over in Korear, it was by trading for a blanket.

Flash back to 2006 walking pass the milk case and then I catch a glimps of something WHITE hanging down in front of my face. I ask hubby what it was and he started laughing histerically, and said in between breaths "grey hair". I went to the bathroom, looked in the mirror and THERE IT WAS!

I then went back to where hubby was and had him pluck it for me. That damn grey hair was as long as the rest of my hairs on my head!

Yep... Nite Katie! Eat a hearty bowl, you need your iron!

I have a niece named Phyla pronounced Fayla

I had an uncle Grover and we called him uncle Gravy.  Bye KatydidG-ma's name was Myrtle...I used to call her g-ma turtle.  She didn't like me...hmmm

Yeah and then she gave her daughter the first name of Kitty.

Yeah... I gave my son the middle name of Xander. I wanted it to be his first name, but in-laws were against it, said he would get made fun of for having that as a first name.

I have a great nephew named Kip Alan Nite Everyone!ummm... it's morning here, and a nice one at that too, so I'm just popping in to say 'Hi' not been in here before  Hi Amazonian, and welcome to the board.  Lots of great support and members on here.  Nice to meet you! Hey, I'm coming in on the tail end again, I never know whether to reply to this thread or go into the next one.  Right now it's 9.15pm Thursday night and I just wanted to answer a couple of posts on this thread.  I hope I've got them all.

RAJay  love your butterfly photos.  Is the orange one a Monarch?? We have them here.  They feed on swan plants, and when it's all eaten they make their beautiful huge crysalis.  Lots of them around where I live.  Does that sound the same??  We don't have hummingbirds here - I would love to see one.

Moana, yes I have been to the States, unfortunately though, only on LA stopovers on the way to and from the UK.  On the first we stayed in LA for 3 days each way, and did the usual touristy things, Disneyland (best part for me was Small World), and a day trip to Mexico - great shopping and duty free shopping, and soo different from anything I had ever experienced before.

On the other trip, I was on my own, and just had 7 hrs to wait for my connecting flight, so I drank lots of coffee and smoked lots of cigarettes, and walked a lot!!

I'm also sorry to disillusion you Moana, but the men aren't totally naked   Kiwilass239324.1128819444
