Ok, this is the second time around that I'm doing the wifey thing. I've been out of practice for a while. And let's just say my culinary skills are severely lacking.

So my question to you, ladies (and gentlemen), is this:

Do you have any favorite recipes that you would be willing to share?

well i do have some, though i wrote them in a notebook and well now i cant find the notebook

We're pretty much open to anything (except lamb, veal, liver... hehe). I love Mexican food and my hubby's fave is BBQ, but he'll pretty much eat anything that has a kick to it.

It's gotten to the point where I'm so out of ideas, we're buying the all-in-one frozen meals. LOL

I put mine into Word documents and save them on my PC so I can always print a new one if I can't find the old one!  But they're at home right now.  Anyway, kelsaysmommy is on the right track...what kind of things are you looking for?

OMG I LOVE liver!!!!!! yea im a weird one..but at least for once im on the right track...and its in writing!!!!

I've found that I can really appreciate the simplicity of crock pot meals. I mess with it in the morning and Voila! Hubby walks in the door and everything's good to go. Pot roast is one of my faves to make!

Im gonna do some searching for my notebook w/ my reciepes in em today for ya

You're in good company Mrs. Alexander. This is my second time around with the wifey thing myself. While we were dating I played it off as if I couldn't cook at all! He's since learned that I can; but he knows better than to expect it

I subscribe to a couple different recipe sites and they email be stuff daily. The ones I like I'll print and save. Helps to add soemthing different now and then. Husband thinks I'm a hero when I tackle something new!

I'll keep an eye on this thread myself.

We are hooked on Shake N Bake for our chicken and pork chops.

MIL will put mushroom soup over her chicken or pork chops.

We have been making Chicken in the oven, we pour speghetti sauce and mozerella cheese over the chicken and let it bake. Hubby seems to like it.

My hubby is a picky eater. He only has certain foods he will eat. I get bored with the same stuff over and over and over again.

My hubby is a picky eater, too!! (What?!? Who doesn't like mushrooms or raw tomatoes??) I'm definitely getting burned out on the same old stuff. A woman can only eat so much bbq chicken, smoked sausage and steak. LOL  I'd like to find stuff that's on the healthy side, too. But if it sacrifices flavor, forget it!

We saw that Emmrel Essence last time we were in WalMart. I'll definitely be tossing that in the cart, along with Shake N Bake.

Ummmm... yeah I do not like cooked tomatoes they are EWWW!!! slimey EWW!!

This is one of our favorite meals.  Also, great meal for company.  Delicious.  I have tons of recipes for 2.  Love to cook.

Pork Chops with Mustard-Sage Butter

2 Tsp. crumbled sage

1 clove garlic, pressed or chopped

Fresh ground pepper

2 thick cut boneless pork chops

2 Tsp. balsamic vinegar

1 Tbsp. olive oil

3 Tbsp. butter

2 Tsp. Dijon mustard

2 Tsp. fresh parsley

1/2 Tsp. crumbled sage

Combine 2 tsp. sage, garlic and peppers.  Set aside.  Rub pork chops with vinegar, then oil.  Let stand at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.  Meanwhile combine butter, mustard, parsley and 1/2 tsp. sage.  Season butter mixture with pepper.  Preheat broiler or barbecue.  Cook chops about 7 min. per side or until done.  Top each with a dollop of mustard-sage butter before serving.  Serves 2

if you like mexican i have a yummy treat. its good for a friday night or something, more like a dip but you can make a meal out of it...

1 lb of ground beef, 1 packet of taco seasoning, 1 can of sour cream, 1 package of cream cheese, 1 package of shredded cheese, 1 large can of salsa, 1 large bag of tostitios, (or soft taco shells for tacos)

mix cream cheese and sour cream, brown the meat add taco seasoning(directions on back of seasoning).

put meat in 11x9 baking dish, layer sour cream mixture on top of meat pour salsa on top of sour cream mixture, spread shredded cheese over salsa, bake for 30 minutes 350 until cheese melts. serve with chips or make tacos out of it.

its great my family LOVES it. i hope you give it a try.

I've made this recipe a bunch of times and it's good. You don't have to be too exact on the ingredients. I usually use chicken breasts insted of legs and thighs, and I add a squeeze of lemon. The marinated artichokes give the whole thing a good flavour dimension.

Here's a few ideas:

for pork chops, I buy the thick boneless ones, cut a pocket into them and stuff them with box stuffing mix, sprinkle garlic salt on top and bake.

For ribs, I bake them in the oven, covered with foil for about 8 hrs on 225 (degrees) and uncover and put bbq sauce the last 1/2 hour (uncovered). The meat falls off the bones...

for flank steak, I marinate it in a mixture of 4tbl of soy sauce, 2tbl sherry, 4tsp of honey. Broil or bbq 6-8 min on ea side and slice thinly against the grain

for chicken, I cook in a skillet with a mixture of cream of chicken soup, a bit of sherry and a bit of dijon mustard. Sounds weird, but is very good.

My personal favorite is to roast whole chickens, turkeys or cut up ones with lots of thyme, salt, pepper, and garlic salt sprinkled on top.

As you can tell, I love to cook,I just dont always feel like doing it.

MMMmmmmm.....salmon.

Marinate salmon steaks for 1/2 an hour in soy sauce, honey, ginger and garlic. Barbecue or bake for about 15 minat 325. Serve with brown rice and snow peas.
Our family doesnt eat fast food, and my younger son is a very picky eater and wont eat anything that is from a box or can. He has never even tried cold cereal. I feel for his future wife....

Wow you guys!! All this sounds so wonderful. My mouth is watering!!

Here's a recipe I got from one of my best girlfriends:

Chicken n' Chilies

4 T. butter
 1 c. chopped white onion
3 T. flour
2 c. milk
1 c. chicken broth
2 c. cooked chicken (canned)
1 c. tomatoes w/ green chilies
1/2 tsp. salt
10-12 torn flour tortillas
1 - 1 3/4 lb. grated sharp cheddar cheese (however much you like)
4 oz. chopped green chilies

Melt butter in saucepan. Saute onions til cooked through and starting to brown. Add flour. Stir and heat til bubbly. Stir constantly to keep the flour from burning. Add milk and chicken broth. Cook on med-med high heat until thicker and creamy. Stir often to prevent sticking or scorching. Remove from heat. Add tomatoes w/ chilies and green chilies. Place a layer of torn tortillas in bottom of buttered 13x9x2 glass dish. Add layer of chicken. Cover with sauce. Top with cheese. Repeat layers. Cook at 350 degrees for 25-35 min.

Rose, that sounds delicious! But, alas, seafood is on my hubby's blah list.
Saute garlic in butter, then add fresh sorrel and continue to saute until sorrel is limp.

Spoon over fish.

INSANELY GOOD WITH CITRUS UNDERTONES.
that website that Gimp posted is one of the ones I get the daily emails from Mel. You can sign up there. Some of them are really good!I have a great recipe for crusted parmesan chicken if you want. It takes
some work but is so worth it. My husband loves this dish. Let me know.

post it Lorster. I'm going to print the ones here I think my family will like and use them. We need some new ones at my house too!

Anything with chicken goes over well at my house.

This isn't a main dish, but it's really good, and easy too.

Spinach Strawberry Salad

1/2 cup salad oil

1/4 cup vinegar

1/2 cup sugar

1 tbls poppy seeds

2 tbls sesame seeds

1/4 tsp worsteshire sauce

11/2 tsp chopped green onion

mix and refrigerate overnight.  Bring to room temp before mixing with 1 bag spinach 1 quart strawberries

I always find at www.allrecipes.com it's a good idea to read a bunch of recipe reviews before making the dish. That way if there's something not quite right with the recipe you'll know to adjust it before making it. I've made some really good recipes from there and then others have been total duds.

Gimpy thats a great site!

I take a fillet of salmon...usually big.

I mix half a jar of salsa, an small cont. of sour cream and montery jack chees all together and smear it on the fish.
