Shortness of breath | Arthritis Information

Hope this finds you all feeling well...the weather here is cold, rainy and windy.......so my RA is kicking up a bit today.

I was wondering if any of you have had any problems with shortness of breath when your RA is flaring up?

I too have ra and sometimes i get a flare up in my chest cavity and it's hard to breath, i was sent to the er on one occasion, they thought i was having a heart attack, it was only a flare up in my chest, so i feel for you i find that if i take very small breaths it seems to help i also put heat on my chest that help too.

If you're having problems with anemia that can cause breathing problems also. In some people the weather can also cause breathing problems.

I do have problems with anemia, but also get soreness in my chest....from my left upper chest, sweeping under my arm. It doesn't happen very often, only when my RA is flaring badly. It hurts to breath deeply....does this sound like your symptoms Skyla? Could you please describe your symptoms when your chest cavity has bothering you? I would appreciate it!

Has anyone else had this problem??

I've also have inflammation of the chest and breastbone. This has been treated for four years! This does effect my breathing!

It sound the same as mine, the easy way of explaining it is it feels like an elephant is sitting on my chest
