back from a road trip | Arthritis Information

I was on a business trip to San Diego all week and decided to be a bit more adventuresome and drive down the coast in my little red convertible.  It's so easy to compromise with RA and sometimes you just have to take a deep breath and go for it.  I've been feeling pretty well the last few months so it seemed like a good time to give it a try.  I drove 1,100 miles, beautiful weather in the mid-70's most of the trip.  I made lots of stops to walk and do some yoga on the beach.  On the way back I splurged and spent a night at a resort hotel on the beach in Pismo, north of Santa Barbara.  I really feel invigorated by the whole experience.  It's great for the mind and spirit to stretch yourself a bit, and feel more in control of your life for a while. I hope my experience is an encouragement to others that life can still be good...even with this nasty disease.  Here's a few pictures:

Glad you had a great trip alan. I was born and raised in CABeautiful!

Really nice Alan! Glad you had a good trip and you're home safely.

Thanks Alan!

I loved the picture I was born and raised in So Cal and miss it so much

Thanks for all the kind words.  One more picture for Mary...of the town of Pismo Beach from the end of the pier.  It's a nice place; you simply must visit your daughter more often.  It's about a 3 hr drive from where we live in the SF bay area...about right for a weekend getaway.

Alan

Thanks for sharing a great perspective, Alan.  LOVE the red sports car, and the fact that you did what your heart wanted.

Thanks for the pictures...they are beautiful!!!

OK Alan I think I will book a plane ride right now.  That is a great picture on the pier, my daughter worked at a shop right next to that pier one summer and kept sending me pictures.  I love the pics! Thanks for sharing the photos, it looks lovely. I really want to visit the states one of these days.Hey Lisa, if you want to see the Pacific Northwest you can come stay with us!  I loved visiting Australia, I won a trip  (a long time ago) on a game show to Australia.  My husband and I always say when the youngest of the 6 kids (she is 15 now) graduates we will take a trip to Australia.  We even threaten to have our bags packed at the graduation ceremony Fab  pics  ,it looks  really  nice   Good on you, Alan for not compromising and going for it. Yep, we really have to stand firmly against that stuff at times. Glad you had a blast, after all, isn't that what you bought that non-compromising little red sports car for?

Alan the pictures are great. I hope to visit up and down the West Coast in the coming years. My wife and I are just getting started now that our last little bird is in college. Thanks again for sharing.
