I bought a pair of MBT sandals on Wednesday.  They're supposed to be better for feet, knees, hips, etc and also strengthen and tone your leg muscles and core muscles.  I've been wearing them since Wednesday - they are pretty comfortable!  It is definitely a different experience, with the curved rocking soles.  My feet and calves are a bit sore but not in the usual way... it's more of a post-workout soreness - you know, the discomfort is a reminder that you've exercised.  I've done quite a bit of walking in them.  I'll give it a few weeks and see if it makes any difference in the "toe knuckle" and/or hip joint pain.
