I was prescribed 10mg of prednisone on August 2 w/good results. I felt so much better.   However, my lab results came back w/ only my sed rate and my c reactive protein elevated.  My rheumy feels that I am experiencing RA though.  She says that I am "Sero negative"  So--I am now on methotrexate 12.5mg every week, folic acid and predisone 5mg daily. I have to have an MRI of my hands.   Other than that I am optimistic that I'll have this under control in no time.

Hi Rotisgirl and welcome to AI! Any questions or concerns that come up, don't hesitate to ask. This is a VERY informative and supportive board!

There are also a lot of people on the board that are sero-negative, and are very good support.

Take care of yourself and rest some this weekend.

Welcome Rotisgirl, I've had RA since my late teens and I have always tested sero-negative except for one very faint positive which they tested again and it turned up negative also. Hi Rotisgirl,

welcome, I'm seropositive and test negative/high end of normal for all the other tests, how confusing is that?I have been told that c-reactive is the most accurate of the two and is often the one that moves up and down more readily but not always. Obviously with your sed and c-reactive both high...that is not good
