3rd Infusion of Remicade this Tuesday... | Arthritis Information

...and I am really hoping this is "the one that does the trick"!!! My 26 weeks of short term disability is coming to an end and I am expected back to work on the 12th of September.

At this point I have had about a 20% improvement in my overall symptoms. Still stiff for a good hour and a half every morning and still in enough pain all the rest of time to require around the clock narcotics (that don't by any means actually eliminate the pain - just dull it)....so am not sure how I am going to actually manage.

I realize most people here are going to work everyday or (the equivilent - raising children) but...I just can't see it... Unless this third infusion is some sort of miracle. Has anyone had that kind of experience where there was a drastic improvement upon gettting the third infusion or after so many injections of Humira or Enbrel?

Here's Hoping!?!

Melly

Melly...I was so happy to see you were starting Remicade.  I will be starting Wed.  Have you talked to the RD, the best thing about Remicade is they can change the doseage.  Has he done that.

I hope this one is the magic ticket!

Melly, I don't take Remicade, I don't really know a whole lot about it.  I just wanted to wish you the best, a lot can happen in 12 days.

I think I am going to put aside my worrying for awhile and go outside and enjoy what is a really beautiful day here in VA (and while I am actually feeling pretty darn good myself for a change now that the stiffness has worn off).

A lot CAN happen in 12 days and I need to focus on that! And I am on the lowest dose right now so there is room to adjust if that becomes necessary....

Thanks for the encouragement and advice!

Regards,

Melly

Hello Melly,

I hope you are feeling better soon.  I have had a few weeks off from teaching and only had to teach part time during the summer.  I too wonder if I can go back to work full time.  I am starting to feel very anxious about it.  I am doing as much as I can right now to get things caught up so I don't have to worry as much.  I am also taking to classes myself (distance) so I am trying to be as far ahead on those too.

Let us know how it goes.
