NSAID LIST - MILD TO STRONG | Arthritis Information

Does anyone know where to find a list of NSAIDS from the mildest to the strongest?  I would like to know where mine (Daypro) falls in the list?

Thanks,

PJ

All the NSAIDs are roughly equal at reducing pain and swelling.  Each person will react differently to the drugs; the patient, physician and pharmacist need to work together to find the right drug and the right dosage to maximize relief and minimize adverse reactions.

I suppose it also depends on the amount you take. I opted to stop prescription NSAIDS years ago and just use OTC IUB as needed. Of course proper DMARD dosage has made this possible.

I'll take 4 IUB which would be the same strength as some of the prescription NSAIDS that I had been prescribed. Often I'll just take 2.....but I can take up to 4 at a time if my pain and inflammation call for it. I can get a huge bottle of the stuff at BJ's or Sam's for really cheap!

Not saying everyone should drop their prescription NSAIDS; but for me it's worked out well.

they are all essentially the same strength once inside the body.  Howver due to different compositions different people react differently to the various meds. Thanks guys!hi, I refuse to take them. They are really bad for your stomach and they just cover up the real problem we are having. If all these expensive, special RA drugs aren't stopping my RA from attacking my joints, and my pain and swelling then why am I taking them?? Lynda
