tingling sensations | Arthritis Information

Has anyone ever had tingling kind of traveling through your limbs? I don't know how else to describe it. I had tingling and numbness prior to diagnosis, and before I ever had joint pain or swelling. But since being on Plaquenil and having the pain, I haven't had any tingling or numbness until recently. Feet, hands face, shoulders, weird, not too bad , just weird. Anyone??

Hi Jena:

Yes, I've experienced tingling and numbness.  It was much more pronounced when I was taking the RA meds like Methotrexate, Arava and Plaquenil - it's not as pronounced now that I'm not taking them, but it's still there.  I think it's worth a mention to your Rheumy next time you have a visit just so they know it's going on.  Take care.

Jen

I've had tingling/numbness in my hands and feet.  Had a test done on my hand and arm and was told I had CTS and needed surgery.  I've been wearing my wrist splint often and the symptoms have pretty much gone away for now, so I've put the surgery off.

Make sure you tell your doctor your symptoms and see what he/she says.

I have this too and take nortriptyline which has helped quite a lot. Be aware that if it is your sensory nerves that are being affected, your emg and NCV will be normal. Some people seem to be helped by neurontin or lyrica but those didn't help me. You should see a neurologist as there are many possible causes for this.
