I have been thinking about you lately. How are you getting along? Have you
tolerated the med reduction. Please let me know. ((((hugs))))) michelebThanks for asking, I know you aren't feeling well yourself! I am actually tolerating it better than I had anticipated. Had a blood pressure scare after they told me to stop that as well but after several days of very high readings and not being able to reach any dr's, I went ahead and put my catapress patch on and my bp is down now.
I think the extreme exhaustion is the worse right now. I stopped the muscle relaxers and xanax but am still taking an ambien at night because, well, I NEED to sleep. Hubby says I snore and roll around a lot but seem to sleep but I wake up feeling just as tired. I am still taking the provigil but it seems to have lost some of its effectiveness.
Otherwise, I am shaky, headachey and more sore but the pain has only gone up maybe a notch but I am definitely much more stiff overall than I was. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow since my last humira shot, I was doing them weekly, so not sure if I still have some in my system still or not.
I am really surprised that stopping the prednisone cold turkey after a year (I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE DOING THAT!) hasn't taken its toll worse. My hands are definitely hurting worse and more swollen but I guess I expected something worse.
I am trying to find a good endocrinologist in my area and want to get an appt sent up as soon as possible. Otherwise, I see my rd the first week in October, I haven't informed the rheumy that I stopped the drugs but I think by then it will be enough time to see how I do without them and hopefully come up with some idea's!
Well, I just made an appt for the endo for Sept 22!! Lets hope he is good, I read some nice patient reviews about him!!
