My nephew ,Adam, is so very ill. The cancer has spread and he will be receiving a bone maroow transplant. Fortunately my niece can be a donor. I feel so horrible for my brother for him to  watch his son go through so much. We need a lot of prayers here and good vibes so hopefully my nephew will make it through this as well. He is 26. It makes me feel so very sad.

Thank you.

Jode

((((Jode))))  I'm so sorry to hear about your nephew.  I am sending lots and lots of prayers for this beautiful young man to stay strong and for his lovely sister's donation to be incredibly successful.  Sending many hugs and lots of positive thoughts.  Do you know when he will receive the transplant?  What a blessing that his sister can donate.  Praying for your whole family!

Jen

Sorry to hear this Jode.  Prayers for Adam and his family are headed your way.  I hope that all goes well.

So much has happened these past few days, I believe my brother said it would be next week. My niece has to take injections for a bit to increase her bone marrow or something like that and my nephew will be given medicaiton to decrease his blood count so he will be very suseptable to any cold ect.

SHe will then have her blood drawn and they seperate the bone marrow from it and then give it to my nephew. SHe is thrilled to be able to do something for him. THe problem is that the success rate is not that significant. It breaks my heart. THankyou for the prayers, they are so very needed and very much appreciated. He is now in the medical team's hands and of course always in God's hands.

Jode

HI Jode, I really hope and pray that you all get the results you need and that your nephew makes a quick recovery.  I will pray for all of you.  Hugs Janie.  Be strong for your brother.

You, your nephew, and the entire family will be in my prayers.

Hi Jode, So sorry for your nephew. I will be praying for your family and hope for the best possible outcome. Hope your mother is going to be ok now too! You've had quite a summer! Rest up and take care of yourself

I know first hand that prayers can work miracles. I am not a religious person, in that I do not attend a church. However I consider myself a very spiritual person. I believe so much in the power of prayer. My daughter was not expected to survive a ruptured brain aneurysm 3 years ago. Few people do survive with it. But there were people of all faiths praying for her in many parts of the world. She survived the surgery, and after 6 months recovery, is back at work.. She has a shunt, which will always be there, but you would never know she was ever sick.

Do they hope that the bone marrow will get rid of all the cancer? Is stem cell transplant another option for him?

You are in my heart,

Much love, Nini

Like Nini, I am not a religious person, but spiritual and I truly believe prayers will help.  I think one prayer has already been answered in that your niece can be a donor.  How wonderful!  That's such an important step in your nephew's recovery.  My first prayer has already gone out and with all the extra prayers you'll be getting from your friends here, I feel certain it's going to help.  God will do what's best for your nephew.  Please keep us posted.  Sending thoughts and prayers for your family.

Jode, sweetie, hang in there. This has to be a very stressful time for your family. I will be praying for you, your neice and nephew, and also the medical team that will be working with them. It takes alot of people to do a procedure and I will say a little prayer for every one of them. Please try to take good care of yourself.

Deb

My prayers are with you and your family.  I hope all is well.

Thank you all so much, the power of prayer is enormous. IT is truly a blessing that my niece can be the donor. I will keep you all updated as I hear new news. I worry so much for my brother, he has been through so much and with the "mother " problem going on my sis and are are trying to take care of that part so he can focus solely on his son and family.

I have learned throught the years that life is so very precious and so very short.

Hugs to all of you
