What a nasty medication!! I took one last night about 6 pm. My heart
started racing about 40 min later and lasted about 8 hours. I finally worked
it out of my system and was able to rest. It made me terribly nervous. Does
anyone else respond to Vicodin that way?Sorry Lori...I do that to all NSAIDS, but not Vicodin.  We are friends.Vicodin does nothing for me.  Yep same here, Vicodin does nothing for me. When I was first prescribed it (last week) I was like WHOA the ever famous vicodin, lets see if it can make me feel better. NOPE did nothing, well maybe take the edge off a LITTLE and make me very sleepy hehe.

I throw it up so fast, I have never been able to tell if it worked or not

I had nasal surgery once and got the 7.5 mg and they really made me sick to my stomach!  I guess I'm a whimp.

If I take more than 1 pill a day it makes me itch like crazy. but I only use it when  the Ultram doesnt work

Vicodin makes me sick too but Dr. prescribed phenergan to take with it and it stops the nausea and puts me to sleep. I also take it on a full stomach.

It makes me itch a bit, unless I take an antihistamine.

Hmmm, I've been using it just fine for years.  At this point I'm on the extra-strength version (generic) every 5-6 hours around the clock.  I often take it on an empty stomach because it works better (and so far my tummy hasn't been suffering).

No heart palps (which I'm prone to), no itching (which I'm prone to) and no particular nausea (besides the general nausea from all my meds combined).  Guess I'm lucky.

The only issue I'm having is that it is no longer controlling the pain, so either the tolerance is up or the pain is worse, or one from column A and one from column B.I also took it for years with no problems.  I recently graduated to Oxycontin and I do get the itichies with it.  I do get heart palpitations but that is not new for me and happened even when I didn't take the vicodin.  Most narcotics make us sleepy, do you think you had a bad reaction to it or was it something else? That same thing happens to my husband when he takes it. I'm assuming it works for me, but all I know is I sleep the *entire* time it's in my system.

It's Justin's one an only working pain relief though!
