Well ladies. It is 6am and I just woke up. Would you like to hear what *I* did all night?
I left work an hour early, at 8pm I suddenly felt like someone had punched me in both cheeks, and I started to FEEL flushed. I knew I was getting sick, and fast. By the time I pulled out of the parking lot of the hotel I was in TEARS. I hurt on almost every inch of my face, my ears, and my neck and I was draining snot down my throat at an alarming rate.
The drive home was about 30 minutes and I BAWLED the whole way!
Just make sure you don't take anything else (ESPECIALLY tylenol or sudafed) with the Tylenol Severe Congestion. Each capsule has the equivalent of one sudafed, one tylenol, and one teaspoon of Robitussin DM (dextromethorophan and guaifenesein).

You my want to try taking Mucinex for a couple of weeks to make sure you'e got it all out of your sinuses. When I started on Enbrel I stayed on the verge of a sinus infection for weeks. The only thing that kept me from getting totally sick was the Mucinex. It just helps thin the mucous for easier drainage and has no side effects.

Miss Katydid...I am so very sorry about your plugged sensation. I am glad Justin was there for you when you got home. Watch for signs of fever...chills then HOT. Also, if you take Mucinex DON'T take the Tylenol Cold and Sinus. Add some Chamomile tea with honey and lemon too. Chamomile will help you relax and sleep, as well as heal.
I am surviving on three hours sleep...b/c of some of the side effects of the REmicade. I will be going back to sleep, 'cause I am a b**** this morning.

I think the neti pot is probably really effective and not a bad idea at all (How was that Kelly? Us Special K's have to stick together!)
Oh Katie, it sounds like a horrible way to spend the evening. I'm glad you are feeling better, but lots of tea and rest when you can. I'll be thinking about you!LOL!!!! I'll admit, I'm a neti pot fanatic. It doesn't burn or sting like when you get regular water up your nose; you use an isotonic saline solution (salt water at the same concentration as your body has). The first couple of times it feels quite strange, but now I look forward to it. It feels so much better to get all that crap out of your nose. And it involves no drugs!!! A couple different companies make pre-measured salt packets, buffered with the proper amount of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) so you don't have to worry about using too much or too little salt.
Jas I have done all kinds of crazy stuff for my sinuses, like snorting smoke from burning sage leaves. It works too!

This Tylenol Severe Cold Congestion stuff seems to be working pretty well. My ears are very goopy, I keep having to wipe them out with tissues. But at least the stuff is getting OUT of my sinuses. I really shouldn't whine, I can't remember the last time I had sinus problems. I used to be a constant sinus infection sufferer. It's been years since I've had issues.
Hopefully after some rest today and more meds I'll start feeling better. The worst part right now its the pressure, dizziness and how WINDED I feel. Which is strange because I can take a full deep breath and I have no cough. Hm.

(No offence you you guys on here, you have learned your lesson and take what the doctor ordered because you know better than some guys out there who think they are tougher than their headache, flu, cold, or whatever bug they have.)
I shall try to sleep for a couple of hours. We are going away for the weekend with our small group from church tonight after going to a fundraising concert. It should be fun. I will dose Mark up before we go and just make him take it easy for the weekend. I will do the shopping for dinner Saturday night cause thats the meal I have to cook. Then I will pack for us and pack the car and get ready to go. All he will have to do is get in the car. I will even drive to Lake Eppaloch after the concert so he doesn't have to stay awake and can take some cold and flu meds. I will even make his doctors appointment for him so that he can get his medical certificate for work. It's a good thing he got this now and not two weeks from now when we are booked for our holiday, I think I would have shot him (full of penicillin) otherwise.

I did get a call and subbed at a High School for Graphic design and Web page construction...had no idea about the web construction, but I told them that up front. It was good until I started with this angry sore throat. When I accepted the job I wan't hurting like I have been...well, that didn't last long.
Ok, I've broken out the saline spray for my nose, which hasn't turned completely green(sorry for the weak stomachs). I will also be taking my MTx tonight and a pain pill to go to bed early and maybe get some sleep...Novel concept.
Honey applied for a better paying job...I hope he gets it to take some of the burden off of me. (totally Shellfish)haha. He did mention selling the house and moving into a double wide trailer...I suggested selling the house six months ago. hmmmm.

My right calf muscle has been very very sore since I walked around with my right knee all swelled and not bending right. I think I strained my muscle in my calf. It hurts and it twitches and it is sore and feels heavy. It is weird. I guess I just used that muscle a lil too much

Oh when I got home that night I took my Amitriptylin, Robaxin, and darvacet and STILL had trouble going to sleep. But once I fell asleep I was asleep. I did not even wake up to the alarm and hubby was late for work and daughter only had like 10 mins to get ready before the bus was here.
Yeah... me on sleepy meds does not work well if I do not make sure everyone is awake and gone in the morning.

I got up this am after three token hours of sleep, and I felt grouchy and out of sorts. I came home after driving the attachments to school and slept hard!!! I got up the second time and I was in some very tolerable pain. When I was asked to sub...I thought the pain would stay under control. Not!
I think I am better tonight. Gosh I was so out of it...at least I was giving family members to people instead of taking them away. I guess I was worse than I thought. Made you guys work last night!haha
Here is my right knee. It is still swelled now, but not as big as it can bend a little so I can sit. As when this pic was took it would not straighten nor bend and it was just stuck in that position.

Yeah, I took these pics of my knee and ankle so I can print them out and take them to my next RD appt. Just to show her what happens when I am on my feet for less than 8 hours!sorry about your ankle, Karen. I know it must hurt.
I hate it when I stand on mine for a few mins after they have started hurting as it makes it hard to walk and my ankle will not bend.

Deb...I know what you are saying about whiny in WA. At my MIL in Seattle area, and gosh if the temp was above 60 then it was "stiffling!" The kids were like....man this is great! We can do everything in the world in this temp, but she had airconditioners going and so on. Perspective I tell ya! I loved their 70ish degree weather.
I should have pointed out that I don't shave my toe toes when I'm feeling bad, cause they're really hard to get to. That's when they drive me the craziest. I think part of the issue is that 10 months out of the year everyone wears flip flops here, so your toes are ALWAYS out. And I feel like I'm the only one with hair on them. It's an OCD thing I swear!! Joonie - Have you had an MRI of your knees? If not, you probably should. Mine look just like that, but I'm bone on bone and waiting for knee replacements. Gosh, you are WAY too young for this!I'm OCD with my toe hair too Katie...and mine is blonde and hardly visible. But it drives me NUTS! No I don't have heart trouble. I guess it's just OA. OMG! I have a chin hair too! It used to grow out of a small mole on my chin, so I had the mole removed years ago. But the damn hair is still there, and I pluck at that sucker every few days!so... I probably do not have cartliage in either now. I just hate to find that out... I am kinda liking being "left in the dark" at this point.

I used to get tiny hairs on my big toe, but not so much anymore. besides, I am in birkenstock wearing country now. I think the little hairs are sexy on men, when they have nice feet, that is. I cannot get hubby to go for a pedicure for anything. i have a girlfriend here who got her hubby a gift cert. for one. she, he and their two boys went. Now this guy is six foot four and was sons ice hockey coach, a manly man, shall we say... afterwards, he said "man, that is a woman's best kept secret" and goes regularly

Man... I shaved my pits last weekend... I went to wear a tank top Wednsday and I raised my arm up to put deoderant on, and there was HAIR there again! I had to go shave my pits.
I have not wore shorts but a couple of times this summer, as I do not feel up to shaving my legs, so I just wear jeans and sweat like a bloody pig!

I think I had a saddle block, because I was to have him normal, but then he would not move down anymore. We found out that son had his umbilical cord wrapped around his leg that is why he would not come down anymore... he was stuck.
I hated putting on under-roos while I was preggo. That was the most ANNOYING task in the world! And on days when my hands and arms are acting up, it is still the most ANNOYING task to do. Good thing I do not wear thongs! I mean can you really see someone who already struggles with granny panties... struggle to make sure a string is in its proper place? It is like when wiping yo ass, when your hands and arms are acting... not sure. *shrugs shoulders*

Hubby came upstairs about 15 minutes ago and said it's working. We forgot that we had signed up for a conservation plan with the electric company where they come out and put a restrictor on the AC unit. During a high energy crisis, the restrictor can shut your AC off for up to 6 hours at a time, but not more than once a week. It has never happend so far this summer, so we kind of forgot it was there. Duh...

Yep, it's a really big fair. It runs every September through the beginning of Oct. To see everything you'd really need to spend a couple of days there.We never go to the part where the rides and games are. Those carnie type people kind of freak me out.It's unbelievable how many kinds of things they can fry these days! LOL
