Hi all, I just wanted to ask a question about back problems. Yesterday I got MRI results for my lower back and was told that the discs in my lower back are degenerating and slipping. I was not expecting that although I know I have other back problems so I was kinda surprised and left it at that. Now I am kicking myself for not asking any questions! I was just told this is something we will need to watch. I guess there is nothing I can do to help it since it is not injury that caused this? So I thought I would ask all of you if this is something that the inflammation does to our discs?
Thanks for helping me to understand....
Sarah - my lower four discs collapsed on me suddenly 18 months ago, with no injury, which was discovered when I developed full blown right leg sciatica and had to have microdisc surgery for a tear in one of the discs. I recently had a bone density test and have full blown osteoporosis, and am suspicious the collapsed discs were a warning sign of the osteo. You might want to get tested for osteo. Just a suggestion.
