I’ve got good news! | Arthritis Information

Well, I saw my RD again today. He said I don't have RA. After running all of my labs, he's decided what my problem is Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, which he diagnosed me with before. (I do still have a positive RA factor) That is what has been causing my neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand pain. Before when I had it I only had stiffness, but now it had gotten worse and caused pain. As far as my knees are concerned, he feels because my joints have been so flexable all of my life, that my muscles around my knees aren't strong enough to support them, so they are hurting. I kinda don't buy that explaination, but I'll try doing all of my excersises I learned at PT after surgery, and see if it helps. So I'm off all meds, but he said I can take the Tramadol as needed for a while, until all of my excersises take effect.

I want to thank all of you, from the bottom of my heart. You all have been so helpful to me. I think back to when I first started posting how wonderful everyone has been. I'll forever be grateful! I sincerely hope that all of you get relief soon and feel well. I won't dissapear completely, I'll visit once in a while to see how everyone is doing.

You go girl!

And don't forget to visit!

Great news!!  Thats good news!  Not exactly sure what the effects of the thoracic outlet syndrome are but it seems like thats a bit better than ra!

Yes, it is much better than having RA, and very treatable with physical therapy. Very extreme cases require surgery, but not in my case. It is a lifetime thing, but it is basically a very pinched nerve in my neck. It will get better.

Thanks all!

I am so happy for you Debbie!  That is great news!

I hope the PT brings you some relief soon.  Good luck to you!
