OT my little trooper update | Arthritis Information

I posted last week about my daughter being upset about spilling rice at her new school. Last night, we had Parent's Night and it was great to see some of the 'work' they do in a Montessori classroom. The teacher said she would show us the lesson on Pouring Rice. Got my attention!

They have small glass tray with two small glass pitchers. One is filled with rice, and you pour rice from one into the other. It isn't heavy, but you can see it would be difficult for a 4 yr. old. The teacher said it is not easy for anyone. You have to be very careful.

And she announced to the whole room of parents that my daughter was the first child ever in her whole career to clean up the rice they spilled! She said they all just leave it and walk away, but my daughter picked up every grain (with her little arthritic fingers, I might add LOL!)

Good job mom!! That shows some great training!  Poor baby that no one joined in to help...bad on them.  Awww how cute! Well done Suzannes daughter  That is great! Thank you all! I wish I could take full credit for it, but she is just genuinely sweet and nurturing and has always been that way. When she was just a toddler, barely walking and even less talking, she would wait like a little soldier outside the shower to hand me a towel!! Believe me, nobody around here is that nice to me LOL. As she got a little older, when the water turned off, she would run in all excited - "Towel! Towel!" - and pull it off the bar for me.

Her sister says she will be a maid when she grows up.

Even when she has been so sick, she always finds a way to make me smile everyday.        Awwww, what a sweetheart daughter!! You should take the credit! I'm sure you're a very nurturing mommy!

It sounds like yours is one of the really special ones. Even having JRA she still wants to be helpful and wants to take care of you and help you. You did something right, Mom!

God Bless you and your dear family.

OMG How many times do I have to tell you how amazingly adorable your daughter is???

Hugs,

Pip

Very cute. Definitely has something to do with mom and mom's demeanor!

Katie - Would if help if I started posting how evil her big sister is? LOL. Seriously, I love them both to death, and fully expect the younger one to turn on me in seven years as well...

Thanks again to all! LOL so I'm assuming your older one is around 11ish? It's to be expected, at age 10 all children are abducted and replaced with an alien child.

Yes, she is 11 and she could never in a million years go through what her little sister has (and she knows it).  She passed out cold at Claire's a couple weeks ago after getting her ears pierced.  Even after they gave her smelling salts!  I was calm because I know she is prone to that, but everybody was freaking out.  When she came to, the first thing she saw was a customer with her camera phone out.  She said, "I can't believe she was taking my picture!" but I said maybe she was calling 911, because she was unconscious with her eyes open and that was pretty frightening - plus me standing over her with some big obnoxious feather fan they sell there that the asst. mgr. had come running over with.

She checked You Tube everyday for awhile, afraid she would be on there!

Suzanne, your daugther sounds like she has a heart of gold :)

That ear piercing story is pretty hilarious.Just toooooo cute. As her mum you must be sooo proud.
