             GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!!!

Rise and shine friends! It's a beautiful, cool, crisp, morning, in N.C. Fall is definetly in the air!

Hope ya'll are doing well this am and had a great rest night last night. I slepy for nearly two days but feel so much better in my neck and back

Have a wonderful pain free day and just enjoy!!!

I awoke to the nasty humid, hot, heavy weather due to impending storms

Connie

Morning guys.

Slept the majority of Saturday away. I didn't sleep good on Friday and woke up with problems I didn't expect or want. Ended up taking pain meds in the morning which I rarely do.....and went to the couch. It helped me though. I waisted an entire day; but I guess my body needed it.

Hope to do some shopping today. We bought a new bed and it's a king size. We currently have a queen; so I have to buy all new bed stuff to fit the king. Wish me luck. I'm having a hard time finding what I want. The good news is that I did see some lamps in Marshalls Friday afternoon that I liked. I should have bought them right then.....but I wanted to "think" about them for a while first. They only had the two that matched. I just hope they are still there. They were perfect. I think I'll go there first and try to get them.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Connie~ Hope you feel better and you'll be able to enjoy your company.

Moana~It is a beautiful day in NC! Enjoy it. Next week is supposed to be wonderful here.

Morning everyone....Still tired...but VERY glad that I got to sleep in my own bed.  I love my grandparent to death but well their beds SUCK LMAO  the bed that I slept on is a twin..ok fine you think...WRONG! It used to be my great grandmothers bed...she passed away like 12 or so years ago and she had it for forever before that.. and because its not broke they dont need a new one

Hope everyone is having a great day so far!

Good morning ALL!

I had a restful nights sleep....that is a HUGE change for me.  I got cold last night.  OK...I live in the desert and it is only September, but I was shivering last night.

I got to get going...have to take a shower and all for Church...God doesn't mind that I am dirty...It's those people!  I need my coffee first.

Mo...what about the storms...Gabrielle??? is it.  Is this going to affect you?

Good Morning!  It's cooler here today, but overcast and still humid.  I've noticed that alot of people on the board are affected by the weather.  I'm not. At all. Is it just me??  Wonder why that would be.

It sounds like everybody is doing reletively well this morning, that's good to hear

My huband and I are are going to Sam's in a while, finally going to get speakers for my computer!!  Very happy about that.  Then maybe we'll hit up the Plymouth Fall festival if the rain holds up.

Have a GREAT day all.  See ya

The weather is definitely milder this weekend here in So. California, which is a godsend. I would love to just lay around today and do absolutely nothing, but wait...I did that yesterday!

So, I'm off to clean house.

Will check back in on my peeps later!

Good Afternoon everyone. It's over cast and rainy here in Ohio. I'm very swollen today. Don't know if its the weather or not.

JuliahRA, my oldest daughter, son in law and grandkids live in Florida. Son in law is in the Army, so they are stationed there for now. I think they are hoping to be able to stay awhile....... I also love to read. Haven't had time much lately. I'm a big Harry Potter fan, silly I know at my age. But I love those books.

Hubby and I bowl, or I should say I use to bowl. Rummy told me I have to wait for a bit to go back to league. I went last night for the first night of league. I sat and watched everyone bowl. I should have stayed home cause I sat and cryed. Silly I know.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.     Lori

Good evening all, Edinburgh was overcast and chilly this morning... it hasnt rained though so thats something to be grateful for.

OK, what you lot drinking? You all sound so refreshed from good sleeps.... I want some

Juliah, I have always loved to read. I have several books here just waiting for me to get to. My eyes have been a little weird lately. I seem to have double vision a lot, which makes it hard to read. I think it may be because my eyes are so dry. What are you reading now?

Lori, I know what you mean about bowling. I used to love to bowl. But my back made me stop about 10 years ago. It really is sad when you have to give up something you enjoy. But another door may open for you to find something else that you enjoy doing. I hope you won't have to give up bowling altogether yet, though.

Gale, I'm in Southern California, too and it is indeed a beautiful day! Looks like it is another perfect day in our part of the country! I hear the Santa Anas are coming this week, but I'll enjoy this kind of day while we have it. Are you doing anything special, today? I wish I could go dig in my garden. It's the perfect day for it.

Have a wonderful day, All

Hi friends,

I'm up and back from church. Good sermon this morning. My yorkie and I have been working on new tricks today - I think it's so cute when they sit up and beg. She's a smart one too.

I slept well last night. Usually I do, but I've had had so many bad nights that I'm still grateful for every good one! I've gotten so thin on my bottom that I don't have enough padding there and have to change positions often.

The weather is lovely - low 70's, partly sunny, little breeze. Mosquitos are massive. They grab you as you step out and munch away in clouds so think that others can't see you until you go back in through the door. You'll bring hundreds in with you and one slap on the arm will kill a dozen at a time. So nobody goes out much.

Kathy

Happy Sunday all! Smoke has cleared quite a bit here in ca. san joaquin valley. Thank God. Really. Got to go to the beach yesterday. Husband was working in SF and we met up in Half Moon Bay. Had a 3 hr. lunch and went and sat on the sand for a bit. Soooo nice. I needed that muchly. Off MTX for 3 weeks now and still doing good. Knock wood. Just feels so good to say I feel so good.

Hey Shelly where are you in the desert? NM native here. I miss it. Just got our green chili last week. Roasting them is the best. After being on sulfa drugs last year, green chili and I aren't best good friends anymore. If you know what I mean. Doesn't stop from eating em anyway. I saw someone, Bris I think, talking about indian fry bread. OMG I instantly thought of home. Sooo good.

Hope everyone is having a great sunday.

Peace

getting some cleaning done around the house today...why is it that mens' brains shut down when us women leave?  LOL  Going to Walmart once Kelsay gets back from her mini vacation.   Need to get some other school supplies that the new school needs that the other one didn't request.  Thankfully its not a bunch of stuff.  hmmm then maybe I can talk hubby into letting me get a new outfit er somethin, hey its worth a shot eh?

Hi Friends and Good Morning!  It's a terribly hot Sunday afternoon here in the big AZ.  We are moving in three days - I'm excited and stressed all at the same time.  Lily's been ill - but is finally feeling better in time for the move.  We're driving to Utah with Lily, my mom, me and three cats - it should be an adventure!

Sending hugs to you all today!  Hope you have a great Sunday and everyone is feeling okay.  I'm pretty scrunched up today - hoping it will improve soon.  Weaning off of Pred due to side effects - so we'll see what happens!

Hugs,

Jen

Well its a sunday evening here right now( 21.25pm) We have had beautiful sunny weather all day and this evening is quite balmy. Hubby has been in the garden all day getting it ready for autumn but we seem to be having a late summer. My eldest daughter passed her drivers test and I am a nervous wreck everytime she goes out in the car on her own. I make her phone me when she gets where she is goingWell we went to see Superbad last night, and it was pretty good. It didn't get over until 12:30, and then we went to wally world....so we got home at like, 2ish, and our power was freaking out. We couldn't find working flashlights so we had to turn around and go back to walmart and by the time we got settled at the house it was almost 4am. Shew. Oh yeah, and I had to be up at 6am to go to work. LOL So I did not sleep last night. I have not been to bed yet!! I'm wired and I have a headache and I am just loopy loopy loopy. LOL I'm going to crash early tonight, I NEED IT.

Hi Katie! Glad you had a good time last night, but what a bummer about the electricity. You must be TOTALLY exhausted!

I'm in the middle of cleaning house...just taking a little break. I'll be back on later this evening, but if I don't catch you, GET SOME REST! I think I have strep... I'll try to get into the doctor tomorrow.  It's going to be hard - the boys have their physical appointment at 1:45PM.  I think my regular naproxen is keeping the fever and body aches down, but my throat still feels like it's on fire.  I can barely swallow. I've been drinking rooibos tea all day; the thought of drinking a Coke with all those bubbles in my throat is horrifying!

I just went outside to hang up the laundry and I did it in bare feet for the first time since last autumn (probably about April).  The cool soft grass felt so good on my feeties!

I'm going to enjoy my food today because tomorrow and Wednesday I have to prep for a gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

I've been scoped before... the prep wasn't too bad.  I got to eat dinner the night before, and then I had to drink two small bottles of magnesium citrate solution followed by a bunch of water (and I think I was allowed diet 7-up too).  The "emptying" only took an hour or so... it was a bit "explosive"!  The worst part was being extremely hungry.  As soon as I got home from the scoping the next afternoon, I cooked and ate an entire tombstone pizza. lol   sounds like a good idea for after the scopes.   Our prep is different  we have to have white bread, eggs and plain yogurt 2 days before and I have to start the prep at 4 on Wednesday.  One big glass of prep,,6 glasses of water. then at 8pm another glass of prep and 6 glasses of water then midnight the last glass of prep and water.   You're right about it being explosive....  Because we have 3 lots of prep you get a lot more explosive, each time you take a glass.  I'm having my bi-annual scopes, they are still trying to get to the bottom of my anemia problem, there doesn't seem to be any blood loss from the bowel but I have chronic diarrhea (IBS) and they keep an eye on that too.  I had an iron transfusion last December and my iron levels have stayed up around 12.4 since then.  Then last month it dropped to 11.6.  So I'm back to the hematologist when I get back from my holiday and after my next lot of bloods.  I noticed about 4 weeks ago that I was getting short of breath again at the littlest thing and wondered why, it hadn't happened since I had my transfusion. Then when my bloods came back and my iron had dropped again, it all made sense.  I just hope I don't have to have another bone marrow biopsy.  It would be nice to find out why it is happening and be able to fix it.

Pammy, that sounds a bit scarey. I hope they can figure out what the problem is and fix it for you!

I've had a problem with the anemia, too. And, of course, because of my age, the first thing they did was a colonoscopy. I agree that the prep is worse than the procedure. I've never been bad enough to have an iron transfusion, though! Just had to take iron 3x a day for several months.

I hope you don't have to have another bone marrow biopsy, too. I've had two of them and they really are pretty uncomfortable, aren't they? Because of my back problems, (and because my hemotologist at the time was older than Moses) he did my biopsies from my sternum. My current hemotologist said they don't do them there anymore. He seemed a bit mortified that the first doc did them there. They weren't exactly painful, but the pressure was quite uncomfortable.

Anyway, I'm sorry you are having to go through all this. I would hate to have a colonoscopy as often as you have to.I really hope you get some answers this time.

Jasmine, it really does sound like you have strep. That burning is unmistakable. I hope you get to the doc tomorrow and get a RX. I can't remember what RA meds you are on. Do you have to stop them while you have an infection? I hope you get better very soon!

Have as good an evening as you can.

Hugs, Nini

Ok we just got back from wal-mart again! What? Had to buy groceries. Our Wal-Mart is usually out of a few things we need, and then we go back to see if they have stocked it. But no.... they have been outta extra crispy shake n bake for a month!

Anyways... here's something funny.

So we were walking around, and hubby pointed out this girl to me. She is the one he was going to cheat on me with a few years back. I refer to her as "Miss. Piggie". When I want to be mean to him for some reason I just say something and throw "Miss Piggie" in the sentance. It usually shuts him up.

So, he points her out to me and I was like... "Yeah she really would have been a downgrade." Then he says "Oh shut up."

Then she was like stalking us, as I think she heard him talking about her. Yeah... but she looks like she is preggo, cannot really tell... she is extra fluffy, but her belly looks to be a little hard round, but could not tell as she was wearing a loose fitting dress. So, hubby says "Looks like she has reproduced." And then I said "Well... it could have been yours." And he said "Oh shut up."

So, we go to check out and I went and sat on the bench w/daughter. Then hubby's cousin came in just as Miss. Piggie was leaving, and his cousin waved at me and I waved back and Miss. Piggie thought I was waving bye at her and she waved back at me

Yeah, and just think a few years back I called Miss. Piggie up and threatened to kick her fat ass, and called her a "fat whore". Yeah... that was pretty funny... then she went to work the next day and told everyone that I threatened to kick her butt and called her a fat whore. And they were all laughing at her because the ones she told knew I was in no shape to be kicking anyones butt. Yeah... it was a good bluff.

Jasmine ~so sorry you may have strep

Pammy~ hope everything turns out all right with the scope.UGH! My sister has polyps and has to have them twice a year

Nini~ your ordeal sounds archaic *shudders*

well, I am going to go lay down for a little bit until the robaxin and IBU kicks in.

Evening all!

Joonie, you need to call Miss Piggy up again and tell her the reason you waved at her was to let her know you're still around and still ready and able to kick her butt!

You are just too funny girl!!

Joonie you always have a good story to make us laugh.

Hey Brisen is your neck and shoulders still killing ya from all the computer stuff?

Two Robaxin definitely make me sleepy, and this is the first time I've taken Neurontin with it. The Neurontin's a new drug for me...RD put me on it when I saw him last Wednesday. But tonight is the first time I've taken it. If I start slurring my words, you'll know why!

You sure you're not nippin' in the ole Asti Spumanti [QUOTE=moana]

Jasmine ~so sorry you may have strep

Jasmine~ gargle in warm salt water then peroxide, takes the soreness right out

Edited by me, can't spell

Vac. has been great so far (1 day left). My wife leaves for DC for a month long work detail in a few weeks so we wanted to spend some time together.

Is Robaxin a sleep aide or a pain med?

[QUOTE=RAJay]

I could read for a week and never catch up!!! I think I'll just jump around here and there.

muscle relaxant
Robaxin is a muscle relaxer Jay. Glad you're having a good vacation but sorry your wife will be gone

I took it about 30 minutes ago along with the Neurontin, and I'm already starting to feel pretty spaced out. And I HATE that feeling!

Well now that three of us have told you it's a muscle relaxer, I guess you can believe us! LOL Is Neurotin sort of like Lyrica? My dr wants me to start that this week, said it does really well for Fibro. I've not even checked to see if Ins. will cover it, wonder if it's expensive?I think they are kind of similiar Mona, as they're both used for neuropathic pain. I'll let Jas explain the chemical differences.

HOPE YOU HAVE A PAIN FREE DAY ON YOUR LAST DAY OF YOUR VACATION WITH YOUR WIFE.

Thank you (all three of you).

We did not go anywhere Moana and it was wonderful. I will fly up and see her a few time probably then I am off for another 10 days in Oct. so I will go and see her then also. So that can be our Working / vacation so to speak. Can't help you on the meds sorry.

Hi

Thanks. How have you been?

I'm thinking it may be the same thing Brisen, I'll take the cheapest. I think I'll google if Jas don't come through soon

Me too Brisen or Link would have known I was a whiner this weekend and stayed in bed for two days, til late last night

Get some sleep 5 come way to early...

Good night all   Talk with you again soon.

HI

I HAVE BEEN FINE THANK YOU MUCH BETTER NOW

STARTED MY HUMIRA SHOTS, I LIKE THAT STUFF.

And that ole' hillbilly Karen's been dissing us the past couple of nights too!

 Good night Jay!

Link Brisen is on strong medication tonight, heads up!

Thats all it was

Anyway, I'm sorry Link, cuz you really were missed! I know I've asked about you a couple of times in the past few days...really!

 I saw that Linda

  Nevermind

Gale......I was only kidding.  Oh my gosh, if my skin ever gets that thin, please someone give me a good hard slap

We should not be held responsible for what we say late at night and all drugged up!

Am I forgiven????

Drugs are DEFINITELY kicking in cuz I can't spell!

Brisen39334.872962963Yeah, Shelly thinks I have the daughter-in-law and Linda has the son-in-law.

 LOL Linda good night

Dang spelling mistakes

Brisen you are so sweet, it has killed you to think Linda was serious. It would me too. I don't mind if someone gets mad at me but it kills me to think I hurt someones feelings

I know Linda was kidding, she's a nut like the rest of us

 Brisen thats terrible about Christopher

Well guess what it was....a freakin' Dyson Vacuum Cleaner!

The doc also told him it was going to be a rough couple of weeks before he can start him on the patch. The first day or two was alright, but this weekend has been the pits.

Gale, I got a vacuum cleaner for Christmas one year....it was not a nice Christmas.  Hubby learned his lesson though

Its always hard when Merryn comes off a med and has to wait to start a new one.  She seems to be getting better but sometimes its hard to tell.  Its so hard to watch and not be able to do anything about it.

OL a Dyson! I uesd my friend's once and that was the heavirst vaccum I ever tried to use

I hope Christopher does all right til he starts his new meds. I know you feel like you have to watch him like a hawk. Trey and his g/f argued all weekend and I could tell he was in a terrible mood. I just wish they would break up. They go back and forth all the time.

Well that vacuum cleaner is really heavy and hard to push, and I've been complaining about if for a while. So I'm glad he went out and bought a new one, but don't come home and tell me you have a surprise for me! Grrrrrrrrrrr!!

Pammy I love the name Merryn. it sounds very Celtic

Is your daughter doing better now? What meds is she on?

Pammy - When Merryn comes off a med, does she do a slow wean, or like Christopher's doc had him do...take a smaller dose one day, then nothing more during the wash-out period. It's so hard when kids have problems.   I've been dealing with both my kids issues for the past 5-6 years and I just want someone to tell me that sometime it will get better.  I know the stress is bad for my RA but I feel selfish sometimes when I just want some time to myself and I don't feel I can give myself the permission to do it because my kids need me.  Just getting Mer out of bed sometimes is a real accomplishment.  I just want the house tomyself for a few hours during the day.

Merryn is a celtic name.  She is on Arapax at the moment.  She just started about 3 weeks ago so is still adjusting.  She had to wean off Cipramil  but when she was on Zyprexa she cut out quickly and with the Avanza too.

Mona - What's a powder keg? just ready and waiting to blow  Galewalking around on tip toes,  watching everything you say or do in case you set the keg off...

LOL Brisen you crack me up! A powder keg is a barrel full of gun powder. So the saying goes if someone is almost at their breaking point they're like a powder keg, on the verge of blowing up.

Pammy I forget our meds are named differently here. How old is your daughter and does she work or go to school? Trey is almost 22.

Hey Mo, cut me some slack here! LOL

Remember, I'm a sheltered Cali. girl!

You're OK for a valley girl Brisen

He had gone on a Senior skiing trip to Utah, with most of his Senior classmates. The first night there, he was hanging out in the room of one of his friends, they had ordered pizza, and were up late listening to music.

He went back to his room around midnight, and his friend died in the middle of the night. She had been feeling sick on the bus ride up there, but just thought she was coming down with a cold. We're still not sure if it was related, but the coroner report came back as a heart attack...something about a genetic problem with her heart.

Anyway, Christopher called me the next morning anxious, crying, and wanting to come home. I made flight arrangements immediately, as he wanted out of there like NOW.

Long story short, I flew him home, and he was extremely distraught and anxious. My heart absolutely broke when he told me how he had been in her room with some other friends having dinner one moment and the next moment she was dead.

The following day I called my employee assistance plan at work and got an appointment for him to talk to someone. He went to several sessions and after several weeks, he seemed to be doing much better.

But now that I hear he's had this anxiety problem since his Senior year, I have to wonder if it's all not related...

Seems like it probably is Brisen, Thats a horrible thing for a young person to go through. Trey had a similar traumatic thing to happen when he was 16 and in the car accident that left a woman dead. Then another one when he almost had heat stroke a couple months ago. Then he just kind of fell apart in a matter of weeks. I've never seen him in this shape before. It's heart breaking

Mona, was Trey in the same car as the woman that died, or was he in the other car? Either way, that's just WAY too much for a 16 year old to handle!

It's pretty amazing how similiar our boys AND their situations are!

I think that my kids will at some point be self sufficient.  But I think it will be a lot later than some kids.  Jordan will grow up someday, we see signs of it every once in a while.  A couple of weeks ago he was really grumpy and strange and finally came clean about how he realized that the mj was holding him back in life and he was trying to stop.  That would be really good and be a big step forward for him.  He has a job and that has been good for him.  He doesn't like it but he goes every day and likes what the money can do.  He wants something better and will someday (soon I hope) come to the conclusion that he needs education to get something better and he will get himself an apprenticeship in furniture building.  He is gifted but during the last couple of years he lost his way after some bad experiences.

If Merryn can grown up and stop trying to get her childhood back and face adult life she will go well on her own.  Friends would help but she doesn't have many because she cuts herself off from them.

No Trey was driving his dads truck and was taking the trash to the landfill. The evening sun was in his eyes and he cut in front of a man and woman in another truck and they T-boned him. The man was fine but the woman was flown by life flight to a trauma hospital, she live four weeks and had several surgeries but didn't make it. It was a horrible ordeal and we knew the couples family well. It was hell for all of us. She was only 56.

OMG Mona, that's awful! I can't even imagine a teenager trying to come to grips with something like that..I think that would affect anyone badly but a teenager would be truly traumatised.

The family has been so kind and sweet to Trey and to my whole family, it was just a blessing. The man is remarried and very happy and they got a lot of money, which I am so thankful to my hubby's company insurance, they deserved all they could get. Then we were canceled but that was ok

We had thousands of dollars worth of legal fees and attorney fees but his charge was reduced to reckless driving and not involuntay man slaughter. Trey had counciling after that and did well. It think it was young age that helped him through.

I think one thing that complicated or added to Christopher's anxiety was not finding a job right away after he graduated with his BS in Business. He graduated a year ago August, and I really think he was thinking he was just going to be handed a six figure paying job.

He had emailed his resume to several job finders, but never followed up on anything. It wasn't until this past March, as he was still working at the Italian restaurant that he'd been working at for the past 3 years, that his anxiety really became apparent. I took him to the doctor, got him on some meds, AND he finally got a decent paying job doing staffing and recruiting for a healthcare agency.

Now, the problem is that the new job is extremely stressful. He's in the middle of setting up 200 flu clinics, plus he's on-call most weekends. This job certainly is not helping with his anxiety level.

Well Trey went to college for two years and didnt go back last year. Was going to take a semester off and work for his dad. Now he has decided he wants to stay because he makes good money, enjoys the work and being with his dad, and he bought a brand new truck. So what can I say , when he was in school he never did pick a major

Well....my Michael has not finished college. He took a couple of semesters, then took a semester off, then went back for one semester and hasn't been back since. And that was 3 years ago.

He IS at least working, but I want him to finish his education so bad I could just spit! LOL

He's my laid back guy, and it won't do me any good to push him. I learned that a LONG time ago. I still bring it up every now and then, but he's only going to do it when he's good and ready.

He's currently managing a CVS pharmacy, and has been there for 3 years. My big fear is that he's just going to stay there forever.

Sleep well my friends!

Hey store managers around here make killer money

I'm glad that you have confidence in your kids Pammy, it gives me hope

Pammy it seems your daughter is very intelligent, so is Trey. He is the worst to not finish things. He goes in a tizzy all the time or he's crashed out watching movies or sports. There's no middle road for Trey

I have had a good day so far.  I did 2 loads of laundry and hung them out.  Brought one in and started some ironing, swept the hall, emptied and refilled the dishwasher.  Thats pretty good for me.  My hands have been bad for the past few days so I don't know how much ironing I will do.  I'm trying to surprise hubby cause he usually does it but has had the flu.  I guess every little bit helps.  I think I will do a couple more things then take a short nap before everyone gets home for dinner.

Merryn went out today to look for a bra.  She hates shopping for them.  She has gone down to a specialty shop to see what they have.  I hope she gets something for a reasonable price.  Most of the specialty size bras here cost between -0.

I know what you mean Pammy about those high priced bras! Us big busted girls have to have them though.

I am so envious of you living in Australia. I have always wanted to visit there. Do you love it and is it as gorgeous as it seems?

I love it here.  It started with reading lots of Harlequin Romances when I was young

Well sweetie it is 2:27 am here and I need to turn in. It was great talking to you and finding we have so much in common

Hope your hands feel better tomorrow but don't over do with that iron. TTYL
