Anyone interested in starting a daily topic of support to help those of us who are trying to lose weight?  I was thinking maybe a what I ate, what I did today kinda thread.  I know some don't like all the chit chat, and it may be too much with our daily OT.  Just a thought.

Phats

I'd be interested Phats.

I'd be interested, but... I would keep falling off the wagon so to speak, and it might result in some to fall off the wagon too.

I thought about dieting and exercising, but then I remember about how I keep swelling and that I am also on pred still.

Maybe when I get off the pred and on Remicade... I will be able to lose some of this weight, about 20 pounds and be able to fit into my non-fat jeans again.

lets hit it and maybe some others will join in.  I work during the week, so if you don't hear from me until the evening, I haven't forgotten you!!!!

I'm so excited.  I need someone/more than one to make me be accountable.  Yeah!!!

Phats

Joonie....you can join in.   Anyone can join in, it take all of us to make this successful.  It will be fun!!

Hello

What a great idea all the pain and meds make it hard to lose weight. I bought a new scale today and plan to start Weight Watchers in the morning I lost 20 lbs doing it about 3 months ago although that was before foot surgery I guess I will find out in the morning if I put any of it back on I will be happy if it is only five that crept back on when I could not move around for half the summer.  It will be great to halve a little on-line support.

Good Luck to all

Well, I bought a walk a mile exercise video a few years back, and I cannot really walk the whole mile at one time, PLUS in between the walking they do a little bit of other exercises like squats (cannot do), lungees (cannot do), and a few other things... so I just mostly sit down while they are doing those for about 10 mins or so. But I have not tried to do the video since I have been so bad off for the last 3 years or so.

SO.... I might get hubby to hunt it down for me and give it a whirl, and just stop the video when I feel like I need to and then start back up the next day where I left off.

I did lose a little bit of weight when I done the video, and it even made my butt a little less bigger

I have bought an exercise bike and have started riding a mile and a half to two miles at a time.  My problem is my hip, the more I ride the more my bursitis hurts.  I have to try and find a happy medium, enough exercise to make a difference but not too much to set off the bursitis.

Being accountable for what I eat might make a difference.  Sounds like a good idea.

I have been doing really well moderating my eating until this week-end.  I have lost 15 pounds.

Yesterday morning I went to the bread store for some Apricot fennel bread.  They were just taking it out of the oven.  It was so hot and delicious.  I couldn't resist.

So as if the bread wasn't enought.  I had a rice ball for dinner...big, full of cheese and peas.  It was yummy.

Point is...I should join in such a thread to keep me honest and accountable.

Linda, Caprice and Patti:

Gosh, you guys already have a great head start!  Congratulations on your weight loss.  By next summer, we are going to be fit and feel so much better.

I started a topic today for our fit club...join in, we all need your support.

I think this is a great idea. Since my depressive breakdown last weekend, I have really been doing everything in my power to take care of myself. I have been trying to feed my body the best I can, no more junk food, sweets, etc. I was using the "prednisone" excuse for too long. I thought as soon as I was off prednisone, well THEN I would start exercising ands eating healthier. It really was just an excuse not to do something that can be difficult to do. I believe that what we eat does affect our health and how we feel. If we eat crap, we feel (and look) like crap. I definatley can't exercise the way I used to, but there are always modified exercises we can do. I believe that something is better than nothing. I get in the pool 3-4 times a week and though I can only do 10 very slow laps, it is a start. Next week I may be able to do 11. When I'm feeling really lousy, just getting in the water and moving my arms and legs is the best I can do. But it's something. I refuse to use my arthritis as an excuse to be unfit and flabb anymore. I'm ready to join in with you and am glad you started this! Love, Juliah (currently reading "Skinny Bitches)

Sure.

I have been slooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwly losing weight since about January..  the biggest thing I did was cut out my daily (or twice daily) 20 ounce French Vanilla Cappuchino..

Ive found that eating breakfast also has made a HUGE difference. when I do that I dont get the munchies  even late at night. My favorite  is Go Lean Crunch with a few strawberries sliced on it..yummmmmm

Hey guys I want to tell you a great diet plan and that's Ian Smith's FAT SMASH diet. It really works and it's not hard either. No counting calories or points. It's great!! Detox for nine days to start and you will lose alot if you stick to it.  I'm in too. I woke up this morning with a new attitude and decided I nedded to get my weight down.  A sm bowl of oatmeal with cinnamon for cholesterol.

I'd like to join also.  I've gained so much wait since my diagnosis and meds and pain, etc - I need to really get moving and control the eating.  I'd be glad to have buddies to work with!

Hugs,

Jen

All in here. It's frustrating when your on your own that's for sure. It'll be good to share thoughts and ideas on diet, fitness & attitudes.

Yeah!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad so many people are going to get on the bandwagon.  We need everyone here to make a difference!! We can do this.  juliah, your attitude is wonderful!  I like how you said that even on days you hurt, you can get in the pool and at least move your arms and legs.  I, too, used this disease as an excuse to do nothing.  But NO MORE.

Phats

Yeah, I was going to ask about staring a thread like this myself, since the doctors see to think I am just fat and depressed!!!!!  I am down 5 pounds in 2 weeks!

Hello

Well I bit the bullet and I got on the scale this morning after going  to the bathroom, before coffee and almost naked LOL well just as I thought I did put five pounds back on but I did keep fifteen off so I guess that's not to bad considering the summer I had.Well its afternoon already and so far so good although I will never understand why I always start diets before I go to the food store and not after .

Good luck to everyone and here to a happy and hopefully thinner tomorrow

Phats, my hubby is on the computer all day trading stocks

Since I joined the gym two weeks ago I've been swimming about 4 times a week. Actually, I can't extend my right arm very far because of tendonitis, so I do the side stroke and leg kicks and I jog, for 30-40 minutes. Believe me, it's a work out. I also ride the stationary bike a few times a week and ditto with the treadmill. I swear, if I don't see some results soon I'm gonna scream. And of course, I'm watching my calories very carefully.

Thanks for starting this great thread!

well i guess I should join this thread as well.  THough not sure how much help I will be.  Really the only form of exercising I have right now is walking Kelsay to school (2 miles a day).  I have been thinking about getting a scale but I know I will just obsess over what I have/havent lost so I think it will be a good idea that I not get one.  Im trying to cut drinking pop out completley but it is SOOOO HARD!!!! But i am doing pretty good. Drinking lots of Propel water. What great timing.  This morning I got up, put on my gym clothes, and went to the gym.  Yay!  30 minutes on the ellipitical and I am still moving.  I have lost about 50 pounds

great  idea

i will  weigh  myself in the   morning  and  report  back

I am there!  I have been curious about joining The Bob Green program, and I start my water aerobics tonight, I can't wait!!  I have gained about 25 lbs in the last 18 months it really sucks.  I try to workout, but always end up in pain for days after!  Yuck!  I am hoping this water thing will be different!

I would be interested, I need to loose about 20 pounds, hey I can't even wear my fat jeans! Elastic is our enemy! I must admit I am weak when it comes to deserts. If I could find that sweet tooth I'd jerk that baby right out
