Hi, super looking fellow! send my best to hime.

Oh yes and about burning , hurting , stinging 'can't walk foot' I've had it (my left). Only with the current 'super dosing' (4 mo on remicade, 20mgs. mtx, and prednisone) has it started to go away (last 3 weeks). My doc says to be patient. I"M trying , I'm trying!!! I'm really sorry you are in pain,Lynda

Congratulations to your son. Tell him I am proud and thankful that he chose to serve our country. It takes a special person to step up.

I have to stay off my foot for three weeks for a tendon - yikes it hurts. Thanks ra...

again as usual I feel left out. I asked a question about swelling feet and pain get 1 or 2 answers and there it goes. Its par for the course I guess some people just dont measure up to the standards of having their posts get attention. How do you get into this clique? I truely tried to belong and am going to give up. I feel invisible here and will search for more places to talk or ask questions or just to have a friend to talk too. Thank you though for allowing me the attempt I did appreciate the few responses I recieved.Hi doobgirl, I have that happen to my feet lately. by the end of the day they are so swollen and painful that i cry to stand on them. we have been getting a bit of rain here and the pain has been unbearable. I can really feal for you. Are you able to take photos of your feet so that when you see your rheumy next you can show them the pictures. I hope that you pain and swelling eases real soon.you could try either cold or warm water soaking. I cant stand coldness but others say it helps. Please keep posting. sometimes we may be at work or like me my day is your night. so it takes a while to reply to your post.  AllyDoobgirl,

This can happen at the beginning when you first get on the board. It takes a while to breakthrough and feel like you belong just like when you join anything else new and you feel that you don't belong at first. It's just the same.

But please don't give up on us, this is the best board on the internet in my option and the most active. Others have also felt this way at the start. Keep posting on other people's when you can with support and encouragement and people will get to know you as you do that. And post questions for yourself. Don't give up because I know you need our support and we need your participation.

This board is a family some of the best friends I have come from here, it just takes time and when you are in pain, depressed and tired that time can feel eternal.

Your swollen feet are RA, both my feet have been swollen for several months. Yes, it is in your feet too. For me, it is everywhere from the nose down muscles and joints and at the moment all is swollen as my RA is not being managed. Of course, traveling in the car to your son's graduation would have triggered it, being on your feet a lot does, stress does and sitting too much can as well. Putting them up so they are above your head if you can, helps bring them down. Barely being able to walk is horrible.

Now you are welcome to PM me anytime and my real email address is on my profile so please do not feel you have any support because you do.

Hi,

I find that if my legs are down, like when you drove, my ankles always swell.  Getting them up usually helps some.

When you do swell take a pic if you can.  That was the only way I could show my Rheumy what was going on since I am Sero Negative.

Take care

I'm sorry your feet are causing so much pain. I deal with that as well. Usually in the evenings I use a cold pack type thing. It's not ice, it's filled with some type of seeds or something and doesn't feel biting cold. I also wear Crocs when my feet are hurting and swollen. I will be seeing the podiatrist again soon to see what changes  have occured. He has a cool x ray machine that I stand on and he can read them immediately. I hope you feel better soon!

When I read your post it occured to me right away that this sounds like gout! Sudden onset, one foot, intense pain, etc.  I've had that once - just like you described. I went in and the doc checked my blood and it was gout. It comers with high levels of puric acid in your system, even though I never eat organ meats. I take allopurinol now for it and haven't had a bout since. My brother had it too. I'd ask your doc about it anyway.

PS - greetings to your handsome son and appreciation for his sacrifice!

PPS - I'm not in the inner circle either. I think you have to start posting on practically every thread to get noticed.

Kathy

You don't have to post a lot to get noticed. We notice everyone. I wish people weren't so critcal.

Sorry to hear you're in so much pain. :( I'm so gald you got to see him graduate though!!! GOTTA love those BCG's!

Just kidding. Sorry about the foot. My feet and ankles swell from car trips too - but both of them. You didn't get a blood clot did you?

Hi,

Seems like the prednisone should be helping. How much are you on? I'm afraid I don't know why just one foot would swell so much. Could you have injured it?

Don't be offended if you don't get replies right away. There is just so much activity on this board, that I find it impossible to keep up. I work full-time, make dinner, do whatever else and am now trying to squeeze in some exercise each day. And I am just plain worn out by 7 pm! I just scan through the posts and only read a few, and not even every day. You made me realize though, that I might be just reading ones from people I already know. Shame on me! I hope you feel better soon.

Nice - this seems to be a problem of yours - not ours.  I'm sorry you feel the way you do, but I honestly don't feel it's justified.

< =text/>_popupControl(); Yeeeouch about your feet!!  It could be RA and then like someone else said, it could be gout.  Definitely *try* to get in to the doc so he can see your feet.  Can you manage crutches at all?  That might help some for when you *have* to walk.

Please tell your son thank you from my family for serving his country.  There is no more of an honorable job than that.  Any man in uniform to me is handsome.  But I don't want to digress on that lol.

Ok let me clear some stuff up.  I really feel offended when people say things about inner circle or whatever you want to call it.  The board was for once very slow Friday and Saturday.  Sometimes, people just plain out can not post because they are not feeling well.  With the change of seasons that is currently happening, many people are really flaring and feeling the affects of RA and may not be on the board as much as they usually are.  So therefore, posts are not getting answered.  I know for me, when I am having not so hot of a day, I do not feel like sitting at my computer and going thru posts.   Some of us have limited time on the computer and live with very strict wardens lol.  Weekends the board is usually slower than during the week anyways.  Many people are spending precious family time together and are not online.  I do understand the want of getting your questions answered quickly because you are worried about something and just want answers.  I always tell people to hang in there that someone *will* come along and answer your post.  As much as I try to answer every post that I can answer, I don't have the time or the energy it takes to sit here and do it.  Like yesterday I felt pretty cruddy and by the time I answered just a few posts and said hi in the chat thread...I was tuckered out and had to sign out.  Then I wasn't back the rest of the day.  I had other things going on...like supervising the girls cleaning out their closet and helping them with that.  Then I had to cook supper because they were busy with their closet and Danny was at work.  They shoo'd Danny out at 7 PM so he was home earlier than expected from work so I spent the evening with him since he has to work today too.  So, there is no inner circle, clique, whatever you want to call it.  If there is...BREAK IT UP...it is rude lol.  Just please understand that I never try to ignore anyone.  I just can't get to the posts at times.  Like right now I must go jump in the shower and this is my last post for a bit because thrift store shopping is on the to do list today.  Danielle needs a new white blouse for choir concerts!!!  Momma needs some new sheets!!!  Yes, of course I wash the sheets before using them lol.
