I didnt want to stray the other topic on milk thistle to much so i figured Id start a new topic.  Is it good to take it as a preventive or only if your LFTs have come back elevated?

Even tho my LFT's are normal now - I'm using it as a preventative.  Also, if ever you add in more meds you increase the chance of overloading the liver.  I just want to keep it as happy as it can be.

Kel, this is a good question.  I'm currently taking two tabs daily (don't remember the strength) as a preventive measure but it will be good to get more difinitive information from those who know about these things.  What *IS* milk thistle?

Cause all I can picture is the nasty crap inside the stems of dandelions........don't ask. Wait, it seems to me that I read somewhere that if you have an autoimmune disease, milk thistle is a no no.
