Good morning!

First, lets all take a moment and thank the soliders and their families for what they have done for us.  I'm taking a moment of silence for the victims of 9/11.  I hope everyone will remember the victims today.

Thank you EVERYONE for making yesterday a great start to our fit club.  I *love* the name of "phats fit club", I think we will keep it!

For breakfast, I'm doing soy milk (I'm trying to drink it before it spoils) and fruit.  Lunch, pasta w/ beans and mushrooms.  (When you are single, you gotta eat it until it's gone, but I'm going to freeze some of it) I'll have fruit with it.  I don't know about tonight yet.  Won't be able to walk tonight.  This will have to be my "off" day.  I'm going to be an aunt today!!!  So,,,,I'm going to the hospital tonight to see the bundle of joy.  Keep up the hard work everyone!

Phats

Thanks Phats. I will never forget and my prayers today are for the loved ones left behind, and everyone who suffers still from that day.

I'm up early today as I cut out one sleeping pill from my regamin last night. Today is a new day and I will "eat to live".

Good morning to all.  I, too, am thinking about the significance of 9/11, what happened that day, and how it affected all of us.  Those families as well as the troops and families are in my thoughts and prayers today.

Knowing that I wanted to be able to post today (truthfully

Food today=a spoonful of peanut butter--'cause I can't take mtx on an empty stomach, after the gym, a bowl of special K with milk.  For lunch I am thinking tomatoes--they are so ripe and yummy right now, and for dinner it will be fish, a salad, and some veggie to be named later.

Yes, I hope everyone takes a moment to remember the tragedy of 6 yrs. ago.  My thoughts and prayers are with our troops and their families everywhere.

Congrats Phats on becoming an aunt today.  Hope the little "bundle of joy" is doing great!

I've just started drinking soy milk so still trying to develop a taste for it.  Cereal for breakfast, small bowl of pasta for lunch and dinner is still undecided.  Trying to eat sorta light today just in case we have something heavy tonight.

Does it help to have your meals all planned out at least a day ahead of time? We usually don't know what's for dinner unless we are planning to eat out that night.  I just know that I need to be more consistant with my "good" eating habits or change my user name to "binge eater."

I too remember 911 - I'll never forget the wierd feelings of going out on a ranch and not seeing or hearing a sound from the sky... Pretty sobering..

I'm down 2 already - THANK you all! You were the extra push I needed!

 Together we can do anything..

Michele,

You are such an inspiration!  you are really sticking to your new eating plan and doing a great job.

I had a vanilla latte for breakfast (I know, shame on me), pasta and a banana and cantelope for lunch and will have some fruit for dinner.

Great job everyone!!!!!!!!

phats

Hi all! well, we just wont talk about my diet! Captain crunch for breakfast, a hamburger and fruit for lunch tonight is taco salad.  I did start my deep water aerobics last night and I loved it!  I was worried that I wouldn't like it or that I would be bored, but I have two great friends who went with me and we all had a blast!  I like that it was challenging and that my feet never touch the ground so I don't have to worry about them hurting like crazy the next day!  I highly recommend it.  You don't have to be a good swimmer, you wear this belt that helps to keep you up and the weights help you float as well.  Also after we were done working out, we all went into the Jacuzzi and I think it help my joints not to be especially sore this morning!  Anyway, I thought I would share!

Thanks Phats, I think I just refocused my energy from trying to figure out whats wrong with me and everything else to my diet.  It may not be healthy to obsess as much about it as I am but I guess it gets me though the day.  I am so looking forward to either feeling better or going to the dr and saying ok butt hole, I am skinny NOW WHAT????? Phats, this is a great thread. I want to comment to Michele. Try to eat no
less than 1400 calories a day. This is so important in the keeping it off part.
You don't want your body to think it is starving....and at your weight, it will
think that. Those calories divided into 5 or 6 meals will help you lose the
weight quicker. Also, the first meal of protein should be eaten within an
hour of rising otherwise your metabolism for the day can drop more than 50
percent. You will also feel better. I am going to keep up on this thread in
hopes of some good recipes. I love trying new foods. I'm already a pretty healthy eater but i wanted to share a link with you guys full of good healthy recipes:

Diana Mirkin is a whole foods nutritionist who once had RA, but was cured with AP (or put into long term drug free remission, if you prefer). She's married to Dr Gabe Mirkin, who became an AP physician because of that experience.
Thanks for that gimpy. I read some of the articles about diabetes. Very
informative. I have to constantly remind myself to get rid of the belly fat,
that is the main culprit to diabetes and other health issues.

Yesterday was a "no exercise" day.  It was raining, hard, so I didn't even take the bike out.

Breakfast:  breakfast bar. Coffe, of course.

I brought a container of ice coffee to work with me.

Snack:  bananas, grapes, canteloupe and pineapple.

Lunch:  an absolutely beautiful salad of lettuce, small yellow tomatoes from my garden, olives, sun dried tomatoes and fresh mozzarella.  Strawberries.

Ice coffee, of course.

Dinner:  vegetarian chili with a little bit of cheese.  A diet shake with a banana thrown in.

Looking at this, I realize, maybe adding a little protein to my diet would help.  Usually I drink plenty of water, but I did not drink any today.  YIKES!
