Don’t Let RA keep you down!!!! | Arthritis Information

I wanted to post a message to all of you with RA that it does not have to
keep you from doing the things in life that you love. I am 41 and was
diagnosed with RA about 18 months ago. I spent the first 4 months in
denial, followed by a period of trying a natural approach to treatment,
which did not work. About 8 months ago I decided to go on Enbrel when
I was unable to live the life style that I enjoy. I am a very active person
who enjoys Rock Climbing, Cycling and Nordic Skiing.

I want to report that the Enbrel has work wonders for me. My climbing is
as strong as ever. Last weekend I completed the longest 1 day road
cycling race in the country. 206 miles over 3 mountains passes. Not only
did I feel strong, but also my hands and wrists held up great. I did not
feel any of the effects of RA during or after the race.

I read about so many of you who are coping with RA and trying to lead a
normal life. I hope reading my story gives someone hope and strength to
keep active even on the days when you RA seem to try and get the better
of you. I am convinced that through proper medication, rest, nutrition
and activity we can maintain control of the RA and not let the RA control
us.

Stay Strong!!!

Logan - I really want to thank you for posting and helping to rally everyone's spirit here.  Sounds like Enbrel is a real wonder drug.  Take care.  Hey Logan
That's the best story that I have read so far :) Thanks for sharing!
And, good for you! You are hardcore, that's awesome

Susan

Its always good to hear from people who are doing well on the meds.

Enjoy your adventuring

Thats  an  excellent  post

Well  done

Great post! Although I am not into rock climbing nor the others you mentioned, I have tried to keep in shape and have to do all the house everything around here so I keep busy.Somedays too busy!

Enbrel was my miracle drug as well, preceded by antibiotic therapy. THe chiro visits are a lifesaver too ( even though I have missed a few appts! ARGH!).

Keep up the great attitude!
