AP Primary Appointment | Arthritis Information

So, I decided to drop into my primary for a discussion since she started me on minocin five weeks ago.  Both she and her nurse were astonished at the change in me, both exclaiming how good I looked and had lost that "sick" pallor.  My friends and family are saying the same thing.

That being said, I have been backsliding the past few days, not feeling too well, and battling fatigue again.  Today one of my few outside visible inflammation sites flared up, and if I am following the AP protocol and expectations properly, I am experiencing the "herx".  It actually isn't that bad, but its hard to come back down after feeling so good finally after being sick for so long.

The best part was my temp was 98.6, BP 120/80 - I am usually subnormal (I thought RA was a fever) with very low BP readings.  I was perfect dead on for both when the nurse took the readings.  My husband is just marvelling at how warm my body is when we retire at night or he holds my hand or gives me a hug.  I am shedding all my extra light sweaters and blankees I usually take on and off all day long.

I don't see the rheumy for another month ("come back in two or three months, I don't care") so I cannot wait to see how my blood work holds up.  Thanks for all the PM and behind the scene encouragement, it really helps.  Cathy

That is SO ROCKIN'!

I too have been getting comments on how I'm losing that haggard look I got from RA. In fact, a few people have said my face has a healthy glow they haven't seen for a while. I was planning on doing a longer post on my AP update, but I had a pretty bad 3 weeks and for the last 2 days I've been feeling super amazing, even though I haven't had nearly enough sleep. Feeling bad was just joint pain and tendonitis, though. I haven't been having any of the old RA fatigue; my energy levels are way up, as is my 'Joy de Vie'.

Not trying to steal your thunder, just sharing in the  joy!
It's great to hear when people are doing well... best of continued good health to both of you!

That being said..."two steps forward, one step back".

I know that sounds like doom and you know I believe in AP.  Just keep going and you'll get there!

Pip

Hi Cathy - great news - havent been keeping up with the board much lately and didnt know you were on AP - it is sounding so promising I just wanted to wish you the best of luck with the treatment.   Will keep an eye on how you are progressing.
