Side effects Remicade or something else | Arthritis Information

REMICADE had my third treatment about a month ago and as before a bad headache started the same day. Before the pain in the head lasted about seven days this time it is much worse and has been with me every day for a month along with the felling of driving over a humnp in the road too fast. This comes and goes several times a day and sometimes the pain stays for several hours at a time. My BP has been up and down pretty low then pretty high all withing an hours or so. Also I am not sure the Remicade is helping because the stress in my life since Aug 9th has been really bad with two very sick parents to care for and no one else to help me. I lost almost a month from work needed to use sick leave to care for my parents along with myself. My fingers, wrist, ankles, shoulders and neck is really feeling stiff, sore and tender along with major redness in the joints of the hands and ankles. My next treatment with remicade is set for middle of Oct but I am going to call doctor next week about treatments and side effects. Anyone else had headaches that lasted a month and the hump in the road feeling from Remicade. I also take Pred / MTX / Plq / Tremadol / Folic Acid / and over the counter pain meds. Thanks Billy I'm sorry I can't help you Billy. I don't get headaches with Remicade. It also doesn't appear to be helping ,and I just had my 4th infusion. I hope you find out the cause of those headaches and you feel better soon.

Hi billy, aren't you the sweetest person to care for your parents. Children are such a gift and when we need them there they are being angels for us.

I take remicade (I've lost count but about 6-8 and think they are working, but the way to reduce my stiffness) my 'first infusions' were done very slowly, because they were worried about side effects, but nothing bad happened to me. I don't have head aches after remicade but I do after mtx, maybe the combination is bad for you. There are other drugs, fortunately you can be given. Can you take the mtx away from the remicade?  Perhaps, you can get your doc to review all the drugs you are taking. (strangly some pain killers gave me headaches?? aren't they suppose to stop headaches? ) Anyway, it sounds like you are under a lot of stress. Maybe the mixture of meds isn't a good one. Sorry, Lynda

Hi, I just read you are taking Plaquenil, I had headaches after taking it. They were like migranes! Really sorry, LyndaI do get headaches with MTX, and my infusion...first one was the day before MTX.  I had horrible headaches with Plaq.  I had a reaction to it, so I had to be taken off.  See if it might be the combo, but if Remicade is not helping and you are at a good strength...then maybe it is time to move on.  Sorry!I really hope that things get better for you soon.
