Does this count as exercise? | Arthritis Information

Ok I was just wondering does it count as exercise if you make one full around starting at the "Low Prices" side and ending at the "Food Center" side of the store?

We actually go in one door on the right side and make a complete circle, going all the way back to the back of the store, have to visit the toy aisle, and walk along the back to the grocery part and then go down each and every aisle in the grocery aisle and then go out the doors on the left side. And not counting how many times we have to go back to some aisle to get stuff I remembered or just thought of getting.

If so then I get exercise

SO I vote yes!

I went to our little hometown store today cuz' I didn't feel up to freakmart. At the little store you don't even put stuff on belt they take it out of cart, bag it, and carry it to your car. Then I pull up in driveway and keep honking horn for kids or hubby to come out to take the groceries in. LOL I have it all planned out!

 Hi Joonie!

If you are moving that is exercise

I want SUGAR!! No junk food in the house. Did not buy any. Hummm... wonder if I have any carmel candy corn left. I cannot remember if they ate it all.

If you think about it, those pedometers to find out how active you are count how many steps you take each day, not where those steps are taken.  A step is a step, although walking faster would be more beneficial.  But I hate exercising so much I'll take whatever "exercise points" I can get. Hey, shopping I can do (after my coffee).  I feel healthier already!

It's definitely exercise.  Heck, I would call it exercise even if you use a scooter around the store...working those steering and acceleration controls is hard work!! [QUOTE=joonie]

Are you the one that got me hooked on this?

Around here I have to hid my candy otherwise, I have to buy stuff none of them want to eat. Which is not much when the kids find out I have candy. My son, he will eat anything I am eating.

Yeah... candy corn is the BEST!

Yes walking at freakmart is real exercise.

Ok, I am happy

But when I was on those high doses of pred we were going to wal-mart everyday and sometimes 2 times a day. And hubby has been having to park 6-10 spaces down from the normal parking space where there would be a handicap parking place. And there is a slight incline we have to walk up after you park pass the 5th parking place.

Where did you get your caramel candy corn??? It seems like the store you speak of most often is Walmart, but I have now had to eat my way through several bags of (now disappointing) REGULAR candy corn while in search of the caramel kind - which sounds soooo yummy. I've been to Walmart, CVS and Krogers.

And of course traipsing through a Walmart is exercise especially if you have kids and stuff. When I go there (since I got this disease or diseases if you will) with my sis and her 3 kids, I have to go sit outside one a bench long before they are ready to call it quits. That place is ridiculously huge with sooo much stuff.

But seriously - back to the caremel corn....I wonder if I can order that online?

I found it at wal-mart down their halloween aisle. It was eight next to the regular candy corn and candy corn pumpkins.

They are made by Brachs? I think. Yeah it is I just looked it up, here is a link. Oh it is not carmel apple candy corn I got, it was just plain carmel candy corn.

Joonie, in Vancouver Washington there is a two story Target with an escalater and an elevator. It's the weirdest thing!

I bought the chocolate candy corn a few days ago and I couldn't stop eating it so I put it out in the garage where it's really hot so it could get that icky taste to it. Now, I'm not tempted anymore. Why didn't I just throw it away? Because hubby says I'm wasting money when I do.

wasting a .86? Ok... he probably wastes more money stomping the gas when he pulls off from a stop light.

For every mph over 50 mph, you lose approximately 1 mpg.

absolutely!  As I believe Cindee said, it's walking regardless of where you do it.  There are groups that go to the malls here in MA and walk every morning around the mall.  You nut!

My FIL calls me that all the time, "You nut!" I am beginning to get a complex here. People calling me "nut" and hubby callin me "crazy".

Try eating candy cone and peanuts. It tastes like a payday candy bar. MMMMMM Goood!

Cindee! My MIL brought that to our attention last night when she learned it from a co-worker last night. It was pretty good.

definitely counts.
