Hubby and I have been driving over-the-road since 1996.We have never driven off without the other.If one of us stops at rest area,we have always looked, to be sure the other is in bed.
Well dummy me!!
I stopped at rest area,in a real bad mood due to pain,use rest room,came back to truck, took puppy dogs for a walk,got back in truck,did log book,poured me some coffee,and pulled away.
Stupid me-I never looked to see if he was still in bed.
15 minutes down the road,my phone rings-A voice asks where are you-(Clink-in my fried mind)Thats hubbies voice-
I said of my god-I didn't know you got out of the truck.I'll find an exit and turn around.
Mind you my puppers were in the passenger window-probably trying to tell me you left dad back there.
I found a ramp and turned the rig around and got back to rest area.
It's a good thing he has a sense of humor.My mother-in-law laughed so hard when he told her she thought she was going to pee her self.
The next time I got in drivers seat and hubby was still in rest area- one of my puppers wouldn't move to let me sit in drivers seat-he didn't trust me not to leave dad behind again.
I WILL ALWAYS LOOK,EVEN ON MY CRAPPY DAYS!!
