Hi guys i wrote a while back about my hair thinning badly , We are assuming from being on prednisone for 7 months . I am off now and though it has gotten better , my hair continues to come out. My rhumey said to give it some time when i saw her this past monday, but when i told my primary( i work for him) he did some research and has put me on Spironolactone 25 mg and 1 Slow FE a day. This is supppose to help. I will keep you all updated as I know there were lots of replys when  I posted . Has anyone tried this before.  Chris

I take Spironlactone, and have for a few years....it has not slowed down my hair loss.  Mine is from the biologic and MTX combo.  With MTX alone there is not as much, but as soon as I put a biologic to it...well the drain is full.

I hope this works for you.  Does Rogaine help with hair loss caused by MTX/etc? Jas, I don't think Rogaine will stop the hair from falling out but it should help in restoring the hair.  You guys won't believe me but I have to share.....my hair hasn't fallen out or thinned at all but my left eyebrow from the arch of the brow to the end of the brow - the hairs have fallen out.  I just noticed it today - I only have half an eyebrow!!  Too weird.  Now I just have to spend more time on my makeup because I have to feather in half a brow.  LindyI believe you.  Its weird, but why would you make it up??

Linda, I know it's strange....I have my brows lightened so maybe the dye they use is causing the reaction but it's only one brow.  Am going to take a look at my other brow every day.  I was reassured that there were no side effects to lightening the brows but now I wonder.  Too bad I can't blame this on Pred or MXT!!!  But then again it might be meds.  Lindy

Maybe someone snuck in while you were sleeping and plucked or shaved half your eyebrow... you know, the old college prank?
